@RiggyStarz@saleskhalifa Because paying sales people a small fraction of a businesses revenue each year to DQ bad customers and source revenue that wouldn't have inbounded otherwise is cheaper/has a higher ROI than hiring a bunch of technical resources who will demand higher bases and not do outbound.
@Graffitinights1 I'm from Long Island, you can get a 1 bedroom out here for less than $1800 a month. Hell even if you want to be closer to the city, one of my buddies lives in Forest Hills in a nice two bedroom for $2800. You really don't need to be paying $5,200 a month.
@Jfcdoomblade There's emotional protection working on blockbusters and IP, imagine actually financing and directing something original and it's shit in spite of all their advantages and knowledge, it would be pretty devastating to one's spirit.
@Cherenedene@noah_schochet 1. Amount of shares sellable was likely capped
2. Negative internal signal to be overselling equity
3. Valuation 3x/5x/10x-ing every 4 years, they had high conviction Musk would get this thing to a multi-trillion dollar marcap, why not work another 1-2 years for 3-10x more
@RustyCohle11@Silvers3211@KuKhahil 6 games ended in blowouts where Knicks players barely or didn't play in the 4th Q, his G5 v ATL, G3 v PHI, G1 v CLE & G5 v SAS were great but he struggled in many of the other games. It's absurd to act like his teammates were scrubs, KAT, Mikal, and OG all played incredibly.
@JayKapoorNYC Not $100M, he just opted into a max extension earlier instead of waiting a year to do a supermax. He's going to still end up getting two super maxes in his career so it's a negligible sacrifice and he locked down $150M which removed the potential for lost earnings due to injury.
@John05591910584@Ankara_inc This isn't how divorce works, she doesn't get assets pre marriage.
He has a wife on a high trajectory career path who will likely out-earn him, not worth the argument and blowing your relationship up to bring a prenup in to the convo to potentially save $20k if you get divorced.
@FrozenOptimist@CryptoMikli Jim Simmons spent 30 years in Academia before the fund started. What kind of insider information do you expect a state school professor to have?
They were successful because of the sheer amount and variety of data they were collecting to feed into whatever model they built.
@TomListon2or2@aleabitoreddit There's dilution concerns with AXTI. If you're already invested at a low cost basis hold but I wouldn't consider buying at this price cause it could easily go down 30-50% and there's better investment options available in the sector
@Empty_America The boats every weekend and cushy shit is a larp, every single person I know who clears $300k+ in tech sales is obsessed with work and putting in 10 hours a day minimum and doing weekend work.
@kevinxu I'd argue it's better than being born in the late 90s, at least if you were born in the mid/late 2000s you know you're cooked and can correct course versus being a mid 30 year old who's already invested a ton into education with meager future job prospects AND significant debt.
@SkullDude297693@softboyaki I'd rather this though, reading something like Choujin X is great but it doesn't have as strong of a community online even though Tokyo Ghoul was wildly popular and Choujin X is probably the better series but there's like no culture around the release schedule
@___Matias_____@kevinxu He can just withdrawal and pay the taxes + penalty if he for whatever reason needed the cash liquid. TBH at that high of a net worth he could SBLOC so he doesn't even need to loan against the money in the account.
