Israel just assassinated Ali in South Lebanon.
Not a fighter. Not armed.
Ali was a nurse.
They hunted him down with a drone, and executed him as he made his way to work at Hiram hospital in Tyre.
Israel isn’t targeting combatants.
It’s targeting the people who save lives.
"Never forget," they say.
But they choose what you remember.
Never forget Tiananmen.
Never forget 9/11.
Never forget the Holocaust.
But somehow, you are allowed to forget Fallujah.
You are allowed to forget Mỹ Lai.
You are allowed to forget Sabra and Shatila.
You are encouraged to forget Gaza while it is still happening.
This is not a culture of remembrance.
It is a culture of selective memory.
There is a concept in law called depraved indifference.
It means: you did not intend to kill. But you acted with such reckless disregard for human life that the law treats your indifference as equivalent to intent.
You did not pull the trigger knowing someone would die.
You just didn't care whether they did.
The legal system, at its best, recognizes that the absence of malice does not equal innocence.
That you can commit a profound moral wrong without hate in your heart.
That you can kill with a policy memo and a straight face and an anchor thanking you for your time.
"Worth it" is a depraved indifference statement.
It is not a statement of hatred.
It is a statement of category.
The children are in the category of things whose deaths are a cost-benefit variable.
Not the category of things whose deaths are a crime.
Not the category of things whose deaths produce the specific, irreversible, haunting weight that a death should produce.
The category of "costs."
And a Secretary of State who has placed 500,000 children in the costs column is not expressing hatred.
She is expressing something the law, at its best, recognizes as its own kind of killing.
Depraved indifference.
Empire is depraved indifference institutionalized, funded, staffed, and seated on the Security Council.
This is what this scumbag said when Sarah Everard was kidnapped, raped and murdered by a WHITE police officer.
Today, for the killing of Henry Novak by a Brown Sikh man, he calls the British public to "rage".
The difference between Lebanon and Gaza is that International press has access to Lebanon. And they are showing for all the world to see that Israel is bombing civilian targets where there is no military in sight.
These are war crimes.
@NNana57@PrezLives2022 So you hate Islam? It’s a beautiful way of life and it’s living in harmony and balance.
It’s a devotion to truth and its submission to God.
What is wrong with that?
What is happening to us has gone beyond what human beings can comprehend.
I have become unable to write, because I no longer know what can even be said after all of this, or what language the world understands to describe what is happening here. What words could possibly describe a child being killed, burned, or losing their limbs in front of the entire world while everyone watches in silence?
How did images of burned bodies, screaming mothers, and dead children become normal scenes? How do people watch this every day and continue their lives as if nothing happened? The most terrifying part is that the world has started getting used to us, used to the blood, the fear, and the daily massacres.
Two days ago, I saw a 12 year old girl burned completely. She was wearing the Eid clothes she had been so happy about only hours earlier. The image of her father carrying her while completely broken will never leave my mind. Since that moment, I keep asking myself: what more has to happen for the world to finally feel our pain?
Speak about us. Speak about the children being killed before they even get the chance to live. Do not allow what is happening here to become just another passing headline or another number, because the world getting used to this tragedy is one of the most painful things of all.
The 22-minute monologue that begins this show offers clear, compelling proof that Israel committed genocide in Gaza.
It's then followed by a harrowing interview with Dr. Maynard and the atrocities he saw in Gaza.
Anyone denying the value of this is either a fraud who doesn't believe what they say about the Israeli/US genocide, or is very dumb, or both.
Israel runs one of the worst mass torture programs in all of human history. Believe me, this is no exaggeration. Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were detained and tortured since 1948. People lost their mind, some never spoke again, and others did not recognize their family when they were freed.
People still don't get the true meaning of Zionism and Israel. Maybe someday they will. A great service to humanity, this show by Carlson
The American education system does not teach empire.
This is not an accident.
It teaches the Revolution. It teaches the Constitution. It teaches the Civil War in a way that frames it primarily as a story of "national healing" rather than unfinished reckoning.
It teaches World War II as the definitive American story: the sleeping giant awakened, the "arsenal of democracy," the liberation of Europe, the moral clarity of that specific conflict deployed as a permanent filter through which all subsequent American violence can be viewed as basically continuous with defeating Hitler.
It does not teach the Philippines, where the U.S. military killed somewhere between 200,000 and 1,000,000 people between 1899 and 1913 during the Philippine-American War, a war most Americans have never heard of.
It does not teach the Banana Wars, where the U.S. military intervened repeatedly in Central America and the Caribbean to protect the commercial interests of American corporations.
It does not teach the full history of Iran: the 1953 coup that removed a democratically elected prime minister and installed a Shah who ran a torture state, because the elected prime minister wanted to nationalize Iranian oil.
It does not honestly teach Korea, 1945-53. Guatemala, 1954. Vietnam, 1954-75. Lebanon, 1958 and 1982-84. The Congo, 1960-65. Cuba, 1961. Brazil, 1964. Dominican Republic, 1965. Haiti, across the 20th century. Indonesia, 1965. Greece, 1947-49 and 1967-74. Laos, 1964-73. Cambodia, 1969-75. Chile, 1973. Angola, 1975-1991. Argentina, 1976-1983. Nicaragua, the 1980s. El Salvador, the 1980s. Grenada, 1983. Panama, 1989. Afghanistan, 1979-92 and 2001–21. Iraq, 1991-2003 and 2003-11. Somalia, 1992-95. Sudan, 1998. Yugoslavia, 1999. Yemen, 2002-25. Venezuela, 2002 and 2014-present. Honduras, 2009. Libya, 2011. Syria, 2012-26. Ukraine, 2014-present.
It does not teach these things honestly because a population that understood them would have a very different relationship to the word "freedom" when its government uses it to justify intervention.
The ignorance is load-bearing.
Remove it, and the entire moral architecture of American exceptionalism becomes uninhabitable.
They know this.
The curriculum is not an oversight.
The curriculum is a choice, made deliberately, renewed continuously, defended furiously whenever teachers try to expand it.
The most powerful weapon American empire has ever deployed is not the aircraft carrier.
It is the history class.
As someone living under a US-backed dictatorship, I can tell you this is how it begins. 2 years and 21 State of Exceptions later, we’re ruled by perpetual martial law with Pentagon bombs, sexual torture, military checkpoints, activists starved, waterboarded or disappeared by soldiers. A little DEA operation turns into the opening of an entire FBI Office in our capital, the military killing protesters at a general strike turned into targeted assassination plots on indigenous labor activists, a few visits from a U.S. Envoy turns into U.S. boots-on-the-ground operations where campesinos are electrocuted. Ecuador has lived all of this already: the hijacking of a once socialist nation literally beat into a Yankee colony. We cannot let it happen to our sister nation of Bolivia too.
to whomever made this: thank you from the wells of history and farthest echoes of indigenous screams for justice for this labor of love and justice.
their terror will not be whitewashed.
