@Katrina40341325 @saragrummert It has been thrown at us since we were in grade school. Be a man, give it 300%. Trying hard is fine but motivation does not have to stem at verbally insulting the players so that they do more. Change is needed.
Focusing on the educational environment will allow for a more productive classroom setting. Not just focusing on the one for all but an emphasis on focusing on the all for one purpose. #ucr50@saragrummert
https://t.co/mhF01iSxm6 The NCAA says that he knew what he was getting into when playing a contact sport so we are not liable for his death. They need to enforce! #disposableplayers#UCR50@saragrummert
@marthab66684213@saragrummert Unfortunately, there was no choice. College sports allowed him to attend college and it was also a big part of who he was.
Jonathan Benjamin created something out of nothing, but the NCAA says give it up your company or give up playing. Encouraged to explore other areas,BUT, limited by the enterprise. #killingcreativity#UCR50@saragrummert https://t.co/tg6T4VXPxg
@jsaav007@saragrummert Change is slow but it is happening. I agree that it is not happening fast enough and that if change was really on the minds of NCAA then they would have called for accountability a while ago. #thedmvisfaster#UCR50
Title IV, work well done. However, it seems unlikely that the level of publicity and attention received by male revenue generating sports will ever be emulated by other women D1 sports. #UCR50@saragrummert

@emilykim00@saragrummert I respect him too, what courage and purpose he displayed that night and the days forward. It can be so easy to default and put ones head down. I’m sure glad that he did not. #ucr50
@saragrummert#UCR50 In order for change there must be action taken by those who want change. No action is too small when others come to follow. How can we implement change on this scale? https://t.co/kpBKxLStuM
@jsaav007@saragrummert You can’t be more right. One of the few difference between professional sports and college sports is that professionals get paid. Drilled just as hard and expect the same effort and results. #messedup#UCR50
Student-athletes are being exploited for their passion and talents for their sport. The counter-argument, they are getting a scholarship.#worthit#seemslegit#UCR50@saragrummert
@jsaav007@saragrummert#UCR50 so true. Depending on where you are coming from, most students coming out of high school have no idea what they want to do besides what their environment has told them to become. Now they have to sign away their time which closes the doors to explore.
#UCR50 I believe that the spotlight NEEDS to be on the head coaches instead of the athletes. Negative stereotypes have followed student-athletes in academic circles. Rather than question student, why not question the coaches. @saragrummert

@PopperSamantha@saragrummert#UCR50 i read a similar article before and I do see the argument making sense. With anything, from the wise words Notorious B.I.G, #momoneymoproblems. There must be a way to set aside assets or funds for athletes after they graduate
@marthab66684213@saragrummert#UCR50 I cannot agree with you more. Tuition cost is a large portion of student expenses, but there is so much more that is accounted for in cost of living especially in places like california.
@saragrummert HOW is it fair that coaches like Nick Saban make $11 MILLION while College Athletes are just being covered for attendance. To expand on Damon Jones word on the subject, "You demand professionalism, (compensate) professional(ly)". https://t.co/EGqOIrXMnx
#UCR50
@RebeccaPaplanus@saragrummert That's an interesting thought. I feel that if the core rules of what is allowed and isn't allowed cannot change, then attendance probably will not change. The way to advertise college sporting events would remain the same. However, I still think its worth a look. #UCR50
@Katrina40341325 @saragrummert
I may be wrong but I think that there was that rule of only students participating and it was a matter of them simply cheating rather than the lack of rule. Nonetheless, it still crazy that such an Elite school would stoop this low. #Cheatersgonnacheat#UCR50
