Congratulations to Professor Ailsa Hart, IBD Research Lead at St Mark’s. 🌟
At ECCO 2025, Professor Hart presented the latest results of SC guselkumab for moderate to severe active Crohn’s disease at the prestigious Saturday plenary session. Following this, she was awarded the ECCO Global Grant on behalf of a global team of researchers to advance perianal Crohn’s disease research worldwide — a remarkable achievement driving innovation in IBD care.
A fantastic recognition of her dedication to improving patient outcomes! 🙌🏻
Albeit retrospective, an important reassuring data on safety of GLP1s weight reduction in IBD.
I tell my pts that Obesity+associated HTN/diabetes/hyperlipedmia end up killing far more IBD pts than (fortunately very very rare now) death d/t IBD itself.
This is whats at stake !
@DocKateLynch Fantastic! Jane is an inspirational leader. Wonderful to see her talk about her brilliant career and be presented with this prestigious award in front of her mother and other family members. 👏 👏 👏
I normally switch off when I see a basic science slide but @NickPowellLab now got me fascinated by IL22! I wish all translational researchers could present concepts so clearly for simple clinical people like me 🤯

Masterful Bushell Lecture by @NickPowellLab on his IBD mucosal immunology research - specifically,
looking at IL-22 and its role in IBD - predicts response to ustekinumab, unregulates neutrophil attracting chemokines, among others. #AGW2024
Excited to attend my first Australian Gastroenterology Week in Adelaide. Thank you to my wonderful Australian colleagues for their generous hospitality @Prof_NickTalley@DocKateLynch Jane Andrews Susan Connor
