I’m not even being hyperbolic when I say the US has completely given up on even the pretense of fighting to preserve the habitability of our planet. This goes even beyond politics. Culturally, you can see that Americans no longer care.
Kasich is also the reason Ohio doesn't have commuter rail running between all it's major cities. The republican party and John Kasich in general have been a blight upon Ohio's prosperity.
TLDR: a man was shouting slurs at her outside of her place of work, assaulterd her by shoving her down to the ground in a crosswalk, at which point she drew her gun (finger NOT on the trigger), and now she's facing up to 15 years. For defending herself.
Tilly, Wiest, and Harris are all exemplary. My own lineup for this year would be those three women, with Alberta Watson in Spanking the Monkey and Alfre Woodard in Crooklyn at the front of the pack. Woodard would’ve been such a phenomenal Oscar winner for this.
1994 Supporting Actress
Rosemary Harris, Tom & Viv
Helen Mirren, The Madness of King George
Uma Thurman, Pulp Fiction
Jennifer Tilly, Bullets Over Broadway
Dianne Wiest, Bullets Over Broadway

@ale_alejandroid@trashmatsuit Even within those projects, I’m always baffled by which ones catch on with awards bodies. Remember how she was BAFTA and SAG nominated for Girl on the Train, a bad movie she’s really bad in. Or winning SAG for AQP, for some reason.
Wild what can happen if you have the guts to speak up. You think there's a universe where this kind of ass-saving PR release & newfound generosity happens if the Art Director kept her mouth shut, like so many people said was the right thing to do? Hmmm...
“consuming media” - what a godawful phrase. has life become so entrenched in consumerism that art has become something you ‘consume’? whatever happened to reading a book or watching a film or enjoying yourself
If the governments job isn’t to secure even basic shit like clean drinking water for its citizens, what’s its actual purpose?! THIS IS WHAT WE WANT OUR TAXES PAYING FOR
