As long as we're on the subject, shout out to cellar spiders for doing serious home pest control.
These are some of the most aggressive predators of venomous spiders in North America. Cellar spiders use their long legs to grab and strike from outside fang range, and have been documented taking down spiders much more dangerous than themselves.
Their own fangs are too short to pierce human skin. They physically can't bite you. They live 1-2 years, longer than almost any other spider in the house. If you see one in the corner of your garage, let it cook.
Let us learn to be rich in a different way: more attentive to relationships, more intent on valuing the common good, more attached to the local area, more grateful in welcoming and integrating those who come to live with us.
A wild animal minding its own business is not a problem to be solved. It was here first. If something in your yard makes you google "how do I get rid of it," the thing to check is your instinct, not the animal.
@brewcitypaul@itsjwills The Torrey Craig experience did not go well the first time. Also don't think you'd get anyone worthwhile for Mayjon or Pat anyways
