@bright_eyes3000 It's bad planning on the club's part that we don't have quality replacements - and that's not a diss at Danso - he's great. But historically - the squad has been thin. Vuskovic is a Spurs player - but we loan them out when the club needs the talent in the squad.
Seeing real glee from fans that Romero is likely off. Before last season he was unquestionably the best player at the club. Availability is some people's problem. I want talent not availability. Ask Pep how fit his excellent defenders have been over the years. #COYS
@NacerSasse01 We'll just have to disagree on that. Spurs have been riddled with poor coaching/infrastructure that all players have struggled. Romero is getting more flak than most - that is all. I think will miss him if he's not replaced by similar quality.
@NacerSasse01 Again - this is all speculative. Romero was in Argentina for recuperation - agreed by the club. Every Spurs defender has made howlers. Danso vs. Brighton. Porro (so many), Udogie losing players, Ven de ven Palace red card, Kinsky Madrid. You obviously have a selective memory.
@NacerSasse01 I don't blame the players. Saw a stark difference in performance levels between Frank/Tudor and RDZ's Spurs. That's why some of the knee jerk criticism of certain players needs to be tempered by accepting the direction the club took when hiring Frank. Massive mistake.
@NacerSasse01 Getting a lot of flack right now. My theory is that after calling out the board earlier last season the decision was made to sell him this summer. Don't think any player was particularly good last season. Danso, Van de Ven, Spence, Udogie, Porro, Vicario all made big mistakes.
@HotspurLane 8/10. Spurs fans seem to forget how good this guy is. Romero seems to be getting a lot of blame for last season which is frankly wrong. Replacing him with a lesser player who will likely cost more than Spurs get for Romero - which is peak Spurs.
Sorry I missed the memo when lesbians en masse elected the "lesbian interveners" as spokespeople.
But this seems like the ideal opportunity to point out 85%of lesbians support trans people.
@craig_dw Or - he could be another Frank. He goes to a club where the expectation is to win every game. I like him BTW. Think it's a risky appointment for Liverpool and the squad he inherits is a massive mess. Got his work cut out.
Lol! All the terfs on the #BBCQT hashtag having a go at Sarah Makefield because she correctly sees trans people as the sex they transition to. All the dumbos whipped into trans panic booing equality and diversity. What a bunch of losers 🏳️⚧️.
@NacerSasse01 Yep. And again it's massive speculation. I've only seen a good bond between Vdv/Romero. He seems to be a leader to some players (even if I wouldn't have made him captain). We're pinning a lot of blame on Romero for last season whilst ignoring the board, Frank, Lange, Vinai etc
@YFlynnly I agree with this. I'm not saying he shouldn't go - it is time. And De Zerbi obviously rates VH highly. I have to say I'm a little sad we didn't get to see Romero play under De Zerbi - think it's a great match. RDZ is such a great thing for Spurs - he changes everything.
@NacerSasse01 Think a lot has been lost in translation with Romero. I think he's been the only player at the club who's called out the board and asked legitimate questions about recruitment and the direction the club is taking. I appreciate that. People's memories are seemingly short.
@PorroThfc55041 I think this past season he's been poor - for a number of reasons. But I can't question Romero's commitment before this season. Think he's been passionate about the club. People are being revisionist about the player now. I think VH is good - but in my mind, he's a lesser player
@Graham_Stewart5 There's been a lot of rage against various Spurs players last season. Do we remember a time where Van de ven was called out by the fans because they thought he wanted out? Now he's back in vogue. Our supporters are fickle. I think Romero would have worked great under De Zerbi.
@fullback03 Here's the secret for this deal. If van Hecke (with 12 months left on his deal) costs more than Spurs get for Romero (on a long Spurs contract) - something is seriously fucked at the club. Romero is a better defender- period. Need to get proper money for CR.
@santoscb44 Think he's the best defender at the club. Didn't get a chance to see him under RDZ. Obviously been broken between club and player for ages. Spurs getting less for Romero (on a long deal) than Spurs end up paying for van Hecke (with 1 year left on his deal) would be peak Spurs.
