@JohnCareyROK The Sino-Japanese War 1894-95 by S.C.M Paine is a great book that provides historical context to the region.

@dobson_jamie @25thID @Tania_P_Donovan Tower of Skulls by Richard Franks is hands down the best Asia Pacific book on WWII. It’s the first of a trilogy and his ability to zoom in and out from tactical, operational, to strategic is second to none. Also check out By More Than Providence by Michael Green.

@prbeckman I’m not sure Mahanian Navy is the right answer. I would offer that investment in infrastructure and logistic/sustainment requirements would pay off in dividends for the DOD. I think Corbett’s Theory of mutually reinforcing naval and ground forces speak to INDOPACOM’s OE req.

@USArmyMCCoE @Mother_of_Tanks @USArmyDoctrine YES PLEASE! Currently BDE S3, and like my man @robpough mentioned we reviewed this doctrine while @us_sams a few years ago and I would love a few copies for our BDE staff as we continue our road to Pacific 21 and WFX. Y’all would be saving the tax payer a ton of paper.@KirkDorr

My wife got me Winston Churchill’s The World Crisis leather bound editions. Best wife ever! Yeah, I’m a Churchillian and a history nerd. He was Leader, Statesman, Grand Strategist, and my choice for the person in history I want to have drinks with. #allies @us_sams @wavellroom

@SJ_Diehl That’s one of the best books on the War in the Pacific I have read. I’m ready for the next book of the trilogy to come out.

@AgileLDR Flies for Dawn Patrol w/ the usual suspects...minus one.
