A statement from the family of Alex Pretti, obtained by CNN:
"We are heartbroken but also very angry.
Alex was a kindhearted soul who cared deeply for his family and friends and also the American veterans whom he cared for as an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA hospital. Alex wanted to make a difference in this world. Unfortunately he will not be with us to see his impact. I do not throw around the hero term lightly. However his last thought and act was to protect a woman.
The sickening lies told about our son by the administration are reprehensible and disgusting. Alex is clearly not holding a gun when attacked by Trump’s murdering and cowardly ICE thugs. He has his phone in his right hand and his empty left hand is raised above his head while trying to protect the woman ICE just pushed down all while being pepper sprayed.
Please get the truth out about our son. He was a good man. Thank you."
The behavior of these agents is appalling. Clearly untrained. “After the shooting, an angry crowd gathered and screamed profanities at federal officers, calling them “cowards” and telling them to go home. One officer responded mockingly as he walked away, telling them: “Boo hoo.” Agents elsewhere shoved a yelling protester into a car.”
The best part of my morning watching this press conference? Realizing the Bills didn’t sucker me into a PSL for a taxpayer-subsidized clown show that promotes Beane and fires McDermott. Expensive seats, bargain-bin logic.
@SouthwestAir is now just another airline. Time to look for recommendations on new credit cards for personal and business whose points can be used with any airline.
.@PeteButtigieg: Crime is down under Joe Biden and crime was up under Donald Trump. I don't know how often that gets reported on this network, but if you're watching this at home, do yourself a favor and look up the data. Why would America want to go back to the higher crime that we experienced under Donald Trump?
@VP is going to be the nominee. Not just because of the ease in transferring operations and money, not just because she has the support of @POTUS and nearly everyone who would ever challenge her and most importantly she is incredibly effective prosecutor of the case against Trump and for anortjon rights. There will be a process because that’s how she officially becomes the nominee. Expect we will learn more about that from the DNC in the coming days. I expect it will be short and conclude long before the convention given the state ballot deadlines. And it will be interesting to see if anyone raises their hand to challenge the vice president. But the process will make her the official nominee (even as the massive momentum is already there) And once that is done would expect anyone (Obama) who has been silent to be vocal.
