Chris Pratt says Imax drone cameras were used for his new Vatican documentary with Pope Leo, which explores the tomb of St. Peter. He says the experience helped redefine his Catholic faith:
“It was really profound to be encountering the remains of one of Jesus’ apostles. There was prophetic word, he said that the church will be built upon that rock. And Simon Peter is the rock. To see the church some 2,000 years later, and see the prophecy of his words came true, it just was really meaningful to me.”
. @_ellyg_ and I took our first ever self-driving car ride last night in a Tesla Cybercab (only in Austin rn!) and it was absolutely surreal.
You walk up to it and your phone’s Bluetooth unlocks the door automatically (the doors open upward, Delorean-style). It’s built for just two people, and the only controls in front of you are a giant touchscreen where you can view your route, control your seats/the air conditioning, and sync to your Spotify/Youtube/Netflix on your phone so you can just chill and listen to music or watch a movie throughout the entire trip (you also can control absolutely everything directly from your phone).
The car rides smooth as butter. It was insane to watch as it made decisions about turning right on red or advancing across an intersection where there was a bunch of traffic.
We were freaking out the whole time. And it was cheaper than an Uber. We genuinely live in the future.
@mrssockgoblin I see way too many examples of that on this site. Incel manosphere bros who don’t have the faintest clue how to talk to women and women that believe that they have to put up with that BS if they want a remotely traditional family and kids someday
. @_ellyg_ introduced this to me last year (it’s an annual tradition for her) and now it’s become *our* annual tradition 🥰
The entire series is just about the length of a movie
@FarOutPickle Yeah. The 90s were such a great time to be a Star Wars fan. No official movies (until 99 of course) but the books and comics and video games kept it alive for the diehards who really cared
This game blew my mind as a kid. It was like a Star Wars live action movie that you could play on your computer. I’ve heard they even got actual costumes and props from the original trilogy out of storage to make it.
It feels super dated now but it was incredible at the time.
@TimeMachine82 Absolutely miserable! I never owned the game as a kid and I used to play it at my cousin’s house and that was the level I could never get past
@RevTimCallow By the end of the 90s/early 2000s they had become so gigantic and powerful that they’d actually hurt when you got shot with them. There’s nothing like the old Monster Super Soakers out there now.
I remember being very very tired watching this in a theater at like 2am in 2005 and it felt like this fight dragged on forever. It’s still a bit too drawn out in my opinion but I’ve come around to it more.
@Corbienest@NintendoAmerica@modretro They just released a cheaper plastic version, but the original one is all metal and you can even get it with an upgraded sapphire screen. So like…if you want durable it’s a tank.
