The live events industry is in crisis. Thousands of people who make up this sector are out of work and the entire supply chain is at risk of collapse.
Today we ask for urgent government action to protect the thousands of jobs at risk.

Today we stand with our friends & colleagues throughout the music industry to once again call on the government to take action and support the huge number of skilled people whose careers & businesses are currently at risk...
The events industry delivers sport, weddings, gigs, festivals, exhibitions & more worth £80bn to the UK. Non-viable? No way. Support it @RishiSunak@OliverDowden. #WeMakeEvents: you’re pulling the support that will allow the UK to celebrate again. We deliver, now it’s your turn
The #WeMakeEvents Global Day of Action is today. Please support and follow @WeMakeEventsoff for the latest updates. We need to #StandAsOne to show Governments worldwide that our extremely viable festival and live music industry industry needs support.
The moment thousands of #eventprofs turned their backs on Parliament, protesting the lack of government support to the crippled events industry. @BorisJohnson@RishiSunak@10DowningStreet targeted support is urgently needed to protect hundreds of thousands of jobs!
Rishi Sunak is writing off thousands of businesses and 1m workers when he refuses to support shut-down sectors because they aren’t “viable”. That means weddings, events, clubs, festivals and sports venues are being dismissed as "unviable". It's wrong and he must change course.
'You miss events, we miss our income' - @thenec supplier warns of swathe of job losses ahead of restructure. Powerful news story here which touches on the scale of the impact on jobs and economy #eventprofs https://t.co/zHQKoEAixS
Do you know how much the #EventsIndustry is worth to the UK? As of 2019 it was £84bn. Let's get this retweeted to show @RishiSunak & @BorisJohnson what they are ignoring. #Journalists, you will find the source of these figures here: https://t.co/motbhQdqJq Get sharing #Eventprofs
Deeply worried today's statement does not rise to scale of jobs crisis: nothing for sectors that cannot effectively open, e.g. events, weddings and nightclubs, part time wage subsidy which may be inadequate for many firms, and not enough action on job creation.
