Congratulations to Andy Burnham on your election victory.
Thank you for your continued support of the infected blood community and for standing alongside those still fighting for justice, recognition and fair compensation.
Your willingness to listen and speak up for infected and affected families has made a real difference.
You have the support of many across the infected blood community, and we look forward to continuing the fight for justice together.

FINANCIAL DISPARITIES MUST BE ADDRESSED
One scandal One community.
Yet families continue to face different outcomes based on circumstances beyond their control.
Many bereaved families have discovered that the compensation available can vary significantly depending on factors such as the date their loved one died, despite experiencing the same devastating loss.
For families, the impact does not change because of a date on a certificate.
The grief is the same. The loss is the same.
The years of hardship are the same.
We welcome the progress that has been made, but financial disparities remain one of the most significant unresolved issues affecting bereaved families.
We are calling for a fair and equitable approach that recognises the reality faced by all affected families.
No family should be disadvantaged because of when their loved one died.
No family should be left behind.
Justice must include families.

They should still be here.
These are just some of the faces of people whose lives were stolen by the infected blood scandal.
Their families have waited decades for justice.
Now, even in death, many bereaved families are facing delays, unfair rules and a compensation scheme that still fails to recognise their loss.
Death should never mean less justice.
We won’t stop fighting until every family receives the dignity, recognition and fairness they deserve.
Gone too soon. Never forgotten. ❤️

I helped my parents care for my brother, who had haemophilia and HIV. He missed so much school as his condition worsened, and there were long periods when he had to be admitted to hospital far from home.
My brother was worth every sleepless night. We had so many plans, we wanted to travel the world together, but as his illness became more severe, those dreams slipped away. He attended Treloar College, where, as his condition worsened, he was effectively treated like a guinea pig.
I gave up my own education to support my family. I missed school so I could give my parents a break, feeding my brother, caring for him, and trying to make him as comfortable as possible in his final days.
When my brother passed away in March 1993, I never had the chance to grieve because I had to stay strong for my parents. The impact of this scandal has stayed with me ever since, affecting my health and my life. I was unable to work for a year after he passed away and I had no support. I suffered in silence.
My main concern is that even now, after everything we have been through, the compensation we were promised is something we are still having to fight for. This continues to add stress and has had a lasting impact on my health and wellbeing.
Ask yourself one question, if this were your sibling, how would you feel? Surely my family and I deserve what my brother should have received. We are worth more than this.

Today is Bereaved Parents Day.
For those of us who have lost a child, we don't need a special day to remember them. Our children are in our hearts, our thoughts, and every part of our being, every single moment of every single day. Their love never leaves us, and neither does the pain of missing them.
Today, we are remembering all the children we lost to the infected blood scandal. As bereaved parents, we have fought for years to have their lives acknowledged and their deaths recognised.
We continue to call on the government for real and fair justice for every bereaved parent, and for every child who died because of this scandal to be recognised—no matter how old they were when they died.
Our children were loved beyond words. They mattered. They still matter. We will keep speaking their names, honouring their memories, and fighting until justice is done.
❤️💛🖤

No one measures grief. No one measures trauma.
So why does the compensation scheme?
Families affected by the infected blood scandal have all suffered, yet recognition still depends on which cohort you fall into.
How is one person’s suffering any different from another’s?
It’s time to end the disparities and ensure every affected family is treated with fairness, dignity and equality.
Every family matters.

Why Is There No Death Award?
Thousands were infected. Thousands have died. Families were left to pick up the pieces.
The Infected Blood Scandal was not just a tragedy for those who survived—it was a life sentence for those who didn’t.
Today, those who are living rightly receive recognition and compensation for the harm they have endured. But many families are asking a simple question:
Why is the life of someone who died worth less than the life of someone who survived?
Those who lost their lives can no longer tell their story. They can no longer fight for justice. Their voices have fallen silent, but their families continue to carry the burden of loss, trauma, financial hardship and unanswered questions.
A death award would not be about putting a price on a life. It would be about recognition.
Recognition that a loved one was failed.
Recognition that a family’s future was changed forever.
Recognition that the impact did not end when a victim died.
Justice should not depend on whether someone lived long enough to see it.
The deceased deserve dignity.
Their families deserve acknowledgement.
Their suffering deserves recognition.
Death ended their lives. It should not end their right to justice.
