As an educator it is your responsibility to make sure your teaching strategy (including how you use discipline) isn’t ableist. Particularly health professionals you should know better. Being “old school” isn’t an excuse.

Reading a thread about managing classroom behaviour whilst teaching medicine & nursing and a worrying number of academics have said they would or (more worryingly) have taken it upon themselves to ban all technology from lectures

Because I see my place of employment continually supporting and celebrating LGBTQ+ rights I forget that other educational institutions are happy employing people with regressive views like this. Can’t imagine what’s it’s like trying to work or study with people like this.
