In 2011 I spent 4 1/2 months in hospital after a RTA. Everyone asked what my "goals" were. Not my OT. She asked me what was important to ME. I said shaving my legs, so my boyfriend didn't have to. She understood ME. She gave me back my dignity. #SmallChangeBigImpact#OTWeek2019
The benefits of integrated working. Was talking to an ex-paediatric OT about my daughters pencil grip yesterday & how everything I’ve tried so far has failed. My colleague recommended this simple intervention! My daughter can tolerate it without discomfort 🙌🏻#OccupationalTherapy
Can i ask all paramedics a favour? If a relative, friend or passerby has attempted CPR, can you please advise them how well they did and how they’ve given the patient the best chance of survival.
Its a small task for you but it will make a significant difference to them.
I desperately want to call in sick today....I don’t think I can can handle the amount of alcohol gel this thumb is going to get hit with 🤢
That’s a valid excuse right? In Covid times? 🙈😩
Had a student shadowing me for the first time today. I’ve only been working as a qualified OT for 10 weeks and think I was more nervous than she was! I kept asking her “was that ok?” did you draw the same conclusions” “Does that sound like a good plan?” 🙈 #ImposterSyndrome
After a RTA, changes in weather conditions often spike anxiety around driving. I just have to remind myself of factors in my control; leaving early to account for flooding and snow, de-icing my car fully to maximise visibility, calming music on the way to work. I got this 💪🏻
He made it count, didn't he, old Captain Tom? For all those worrying about how much time we'll have lost when this ghastly crisis finally ends, what an inspiring reminder that you might be 99 years old and still have some of your greatest adventures ahead of you.
RIP.
@MegB95 The only thing I would say is my uni used Bannigan and Moore’s as part of our Viva in final year and I found it quite tricky to transition after having only used Gibbs, so I would recommend using several models and if possible find out which is the preferred model for the viva ☺️
@MegB95 I used to use Gibbs to reflect as liked its simplicity and ease and knew it was the recommended model in the trust I wanted to work for upon graduation. I used to reflect at the end of every week on placement and also for more complex situations 1/2
