I'm trying to identify books on a shelf. It's a fun puzzle.

I'm. not there yet, as you can see.

I was hoping SAM2 would help, but it wasn't very good at this.

[Nicolas Coderre @NicolasCoderre]

@DanFessler what you up to, Dan?

[Dan Fessler @DanFessler]

Want auto-complete in your tile map editor?

I prototyped an editor that uses wave function collapse algorithm which dynamically learns how to use your tiles as you use them.

No auto-tiling rules necessary. Your map are the rules

[Governor Newsom Press Office @GovPressOffice]

DOZY DON IS A VERY WEAK MAN (CAN’T HANDLE STAIRS!!!) WHO HAS NO CONTROL OF HIS OWN PARTY. HE IS SHUTTING DOWN THE GOVERNMENT TO TAKE HEALTH CARE AWAY FROM BEAUTIFUL BABIES, MOMS, AND GRANDMAS. BUT DON’T WORRY, DONALD WILL "T.A.C.O." (TRUMP ALWAYS CHICKENS OUT). HE’LL CAVE, HE ALWAYS DOES. MANY SAY HE'S TOO WEAK TO FINISH ANYTHING. THE MIDTERMS ARE COMING, DONNIE, THE DAY YOUR PRESIDENCY DE FACTO “ENDS.” ENJOY YOUR BRONZER, YOUR DIET COKE, AND YOUR EMPTY HIGH SCHOOL GYM RALLIES … BEFORE THEY SHIP YOU OFF TO MEMORY CARE WITH THE GRANDMA YOU STOLE HEALTH CARE FROM. SHE’LL STILL REMEMBER — YOU WON’T!!! — GCN

After getting productive at vibe coding, i find it deeply unsatisfying in a surprising way. I feel like i'm teaching a child that will never learn. It's memory erased every time I click that "+" button....

[Nicolas Coderre @NicolasCoderre]

I still believe this would have gone big. But it's time to close this door and start something new.

AuraVale Development Update

[Dan Fessler @DanFessler]

Two years ago I cofounded Incite to tell the best stories in games through emergent narrative.

Along the way we built a lot of cool tech and we're finally seeing it all come together in our new life-sim game, Auravale.

Here's a live demo of our vertical slice.

[Nicolas Coderre @NicolasCoderre]

@ChildrenEnoch Maybe pick a different label for yourself. Something that elevates your contributors instead of minimizing them.

[Dan Fessler @DanFessler]

We're busy giving the Auras emotions, and boy do they feel so much more alive now

[Fridayyy @fridayyy_dev]

Every time we add new emotional abilities, these things ooze more aura.

Thanks to the first round of playtesters for nudging us to get these new verbs in.

[Nicolas Coderre @NicolasCoderre]

@DanFessler I can't wait to spread rumors about Jessica.

we're investing $30M over the next 30 days 🚀

I'll be co-hosting our new program kicking off in San Francisco, starting January 2025, alongside folks from the a16z SPEEDRUN team -- with speakers, personalized coaching, and a bunch of funding!

Applications now open. Deadline at end of month, Sep 30. And yes, we're focused on brand new startups that are just getting going.

- Mark Pincus, cofounder of Zynga
- Spencer Rascoff, cofounder of Zillow
- Sean Rad, cofounder of Tinder
- Nikita Bier, cofounder of Gas
- Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz
- ... and much more

How it'll work:
- $750K Investment for each startup
- 12-week program from 01/06 to 03/21 with IRL speakers, office hours, personalized coaching, and events
- Demo Day in front of 500+ angels/investors
- Applications are open from August 26th through September 30th, 2024

What kinds of startups are we looking for?
- b2b/infra startups focused on AI, 3D, game engines, etc
- game studios focused on web3, VR, AI, discord, etc
- gamified/playable apps -- the next gen of Duolingo, Tinder, etc, using fun mechanics to drive engagement

Took 8 years to train the neural net to this point. Wish we could start from checkpoints.
