And yes, for me, there is a relevant difference, which again, legislators already implicitly concede given that they stipulate separate safeguards for mental illness. There is just great confusion in debates on this issue, which is mirrored in its practice.

@TuomasPernu @JRBneuropsiq @DianeOLeary Sort of - I say that for wrongful discrimination to be true, there needs to be a defense of the no-difference thesis. The argument assumes without adequate defense that mental suffering = physical suffering and that this entails that mental disorders = physical disorders.

@TuomasPernu @JRBneuropsiq @DianeOLeary I argue that ever since the Chabot ruling, this argument has been used without rigorous conceptual defense for why it amounts to discrimination, and why countries have separate safeguards for euthanasia in mental illness if there is no relevant difference to begin with.
