“मुझे वह मौका याद है। VHP ने अशोक जी के लिए एक बहुत अच्छा सम्मान कार्यक्रम रखा था।

उनकी तबीयत खराब थी, सांस फूल रही थी, फिर भी सबने उनसे गाना गाने को कहा।अशोक जी ने शुरू में कहा कि उनकी तबीयत ठीक नहीं है।

लेकिन मोहन जी (सरसंघचालक जी) वहीं थे।

एक स्वयंसेवक की क्या भूमिका हो सकती है? इतना बड़ा इंसान, फिर भी जब सरसंघचालक कहते हैं, चाहे वह ठीक से सांस ले रहा हो या नहीं, कोई दूसरा ऑप्शन नहीं है।

A 14-year-old girl enrolled in Class 8 at a private school in Delhi was contacted by a 23-year-old man on Instagram

Within a month, she left home to live with him in Gujarat

In true filmy style, he put sindoor in her hair and phoolmala around her neck in a small village temple just in front of a Ganesh murti and declared they are married

He then made sexual relations with his “wife”

His parents did not know about this as the man lives away from family for work

In Delhi, with @BhaiPreetSingh’s legal team, we helped the girl’s father file a habeas corpus petition

After court order, police traced her and brought her back recently on 13 September - three weeks after she had left

Much to her parents’ relief, she is not pregnant. The girl has agreed to leave the man and pursue school

Such cases are rising. And citing such cases, Indira Jaisingh told the Supreme Court in a POCSO-related matter that age of consent for girls should be lowered so that adult men are not prosecuted for such “consensual” relationships

Imagine the scale of schoolgirls being lured and exploited if age of consent is indeed lowered

This is why our team - @sewanyaya and partner @NetworkforJus - have filed our own interventions against this proposal, and enabled a dozen other interventions - one of them from a woman who was trafficked to brothel after being lured in a love trap
