@Crownguardian "Is it cheating to say the Freljord? The first time I went I was so much younger, so much more angry and impatient. It will be good to actually stop and look around."
@Crownguardian Shauna briefly closes her eyes and leans against Garen.
"People. Things. Thoughts. A little bit of everything, I suppose. I got used to being an observer."
@Crownguardian "It started with..."
Shauna stops at a much earlier page. Rough sketches of women sparring with little detail.
"... Watching the women of Nagakabouros train. I still wanted to learn from them, even if I could not take part at the time."
@Crownguardian "Over the last year." Shauna flips back through the journal - her pencil tucked between the pages to hold her place - so Garen can see her sketched out views of the places she has been. "I could not move like I used to. Was bored out of my mind."
@Crownguardian Shauna moves her hand out of the way. There are some sketchy drawings of the farms' landscape also - and neat handwritten script. It talks about stopping at the farm, spending the night in the barn, the comfort of it all.
"It is. No one else has those shoulders."
@Crownguardian "Hm?" Shauna blinks and looks up. The way she holds her hand over the journal isn't to cover what she had been drawing - Garen in sketchy, sweeping strokes that capture gesture rather than detail - but to not lose her place. "Ah. That is kind of her. I've hardly lifted a finger."
@Crownguardian she is in no rush.
So shaded by the barn they had slept in Shauna watches Garen work. She has a leather bound journal in her lap that she scratches away at with charcoal pencil.
@Crownguardian Sunshine on wet ground. It's a cold light - some frost still lingers as half-melted dew in the early afternoon.
They had not moved on from the farm yet, there was still some work to be done and Garen had offered himself for it. Shauna isn't bothered by it. She realizes, -
@Crownguardian Simply put: Garen has. She is lay along her bedroll openly admiring Garen and all the contours of his body. When he looks over at her she lifts her gaze to meet his own.
"Mmhm... Come here."
@Crownguardian Shauna was in the process of unravelling her bedroll - but she does spare a few seconds to look over at Garen. She is, after-all, but a woman.
"... I have... Slept in worse places. And in worse states." She angles her head to one side, "And with worse company."
@Crownguardian ---
Roughing it.
The smell of hay and old wood. Faded red paint. Muffled breeze. Not everywhere has a room at the inn, and coinage only goes so far.
Garen and Shauna instead have bartered to be allowed a barn for the night.
"... It has a certain charm, doesn't it?"
