The theory day out at Leiden @NikhefTheory@_nikhef with exercise at the Boulderhal Krachtstof (sport activity option) was a real success: many boulders were solved/climbed and everyone joined safe the common dinner

I am currently working on a Flavour physics project, centered on the f0(980), a scalar particle without a well-defined model for its internal structure. We are trying to extract some hints about its nature through rare B meson decays.
Every Tuesday, we introduce one of our group members. This is Jaime's story:
I am Jaime, a Spanish Master's student currently finishing my MSc thesis at Nikhef. I enjoy windsurfing, volleyball, cooking and videogames. I also love traveling to try local food!
Every Tuesday, we introduce one of our group members. This is Eva's story:
Hi, I’m Eva and I’m a master student with Juan Rojo in the theory group. I am working on modelling LHC neutrino scattering at the Forward Physics Facility.
Apart from that, I have just returned from a few months in Rome, where I was working on implementing small-x resummation in the predictions for neutrino fluxes coming from charm production at ATLAS. Two separate but related projects!
In my free time I like nothing more than stalking birds.
Fun fact: murmuration of starlings (a truly astonishing phenomenon) can be modeled by means of similar computer techniques that I use to model particle collisions!
Every Tuesday, we introduce one of our group members. This is Melissa’s story:
I am Melissa van Beekveld (@MCvBeekveld), the newest staff member of the Nikhef theory group. I joined last October, after a postdoc at the @UniofOxford.
I like to predict the behaviour of particles in particle collisions. I make such predictions by developing simulation tools. Without such tools, we would not be able to decipher particle-collision data and find out new cool stuff about the building blocks of our universe.
