Agency Owner/Client Management Director, putting out fires ๐ฅ and building worthwhile relationships both internally and with our partners at @HireFireTeam
๐We are hiring a full time COPY ENGINEER.๐
What you get:
๐ฅ Competitive salary + profit sharing
๐ฅ 36 hour work week (half-day Fridays)
๐ฅ Experience working with a cracked team of A players
The role ๐
This isn't a copywriter position. This is ideation + idea amplification + copy editing.
๐ฅ Ideation: You can hang and excel in the 3 hours of LIVE brainstorming we have each week. You bring ideas, bounce ideas, improve ideas. There can be a warm up period, but expect to bring the heat.
๐ฅ Idea amplification: We use an in-house brief writing tool. It's wicked smart, but great output requires great input. You will put spin, angle, and unique sauce on each idea, working with our system to create fire briefs.
๐ฅ Copy editing: You will work with the outputs until it's the best it can be. That could be adding, subtracting, or editing scenes and dialog.
This is NOT a junior role and this is NOT your first time writing UGC briefs. But if you think you have what it takes and want to know what it's like to work with the best team in the game.... send me a DM.๐จ๏ธ
Let's talk.
Mom hack I brought into marketing:
I narrate what Iโm doing.
With kids: โIโm putting your shoes by the door because weโre leaving in 5 minutes.โ
With clients: โIโm making this change now, youโll see an updated version by 3pm.โ
Transparency calms nervous systems of all ages.
DTC truth: Most communication problems arenโt caused by lack of answers.
Theyโre caused by lack of expectations.
Set them early, repeat them often, and watch stress levels plummet.
How to keep a client for an avg of 20.6 months.
Day 3 of 5
Have account managers who don't manage the ad account. ๐
We have dedicated account managers who are NOT media buyers. They are NOT creatives.
What do they do?
Build relationships with the client to anticipate and deliver on their needs. That's it.
Ecomm businesses change all the time. New product drops, delays, shifting strategies, landing pages, new directions, new leadership....
Understanding all that and communicating that to our internal team is literally a full time job. For our larger clients, we literally sit on THEIR INTERNAL meetings, just to reduce the delay on information.
Response to change is an incredible advantage in DTC.
So having a dedicated role that ensures nothing gets lost in translation between the client's business and our ads has been one of the biggest drivers of our retention.
The best thing we ever did for our ad performance was hire people who don't touch the ad account.
Everyone's chasing the next winning creative.
Nobody talks about how much performance lives in a well-run process.๐
One kiddo home sick today. FR: Parenting while working in marketing means I can explain ROAS but I canโt explain why my kid is crying because their banana is โtoo bent.โ
The best DTC agencies arenโt the ones with the hottest creative โ theyโre the ones whose clients always know whatโs going on.
Clarity > cleverness.
Consistency > genius.
Communication > everything.
Hot take of the day: If your AMs are only used for call notes and calendar invites, congrats โ youโve turned your highest leverage role into administrative overhead.

"This kills the UGC creator economy entirely" - Arc Ads
Does it?
I can count on one hand the number of economies that AI has "killed". I touch my fingers to my thumb and it forms a big fat zero. ๐
Disrupted? There are a few.
Evolved? There are many.
But what I can't count is how many times AI companies have promised or claimed this exact thing.
A $16M raise creates incredibly pressure for 'world building' and all the sponsored posts ๐can create an atmosphere of "this changes everything".
It doesn't.
Big claims require big evidence.
I've seen so many accounts since Arcads 1.0, from $10k to $8M/mo. From name brands to drop shippers.
Not once have I see an Arc ads account winner.
Maybe they exist, I just haven't seen em.
If you have, I'd genuinely love to see the data, and the ad library.
Until then, the only thing being killed is yet another Ai company's credibility.
"What's the value of an AM?"
We hold the emotional P&L.
If the client trusts us and feels safe, the account grows.
If they don't, the numbers donโt matter.
^and thus begins my quest to bring account value to the DTC space
hey ๐๏ธ *tap tap* is this thing on? Longtime lurker... first time poster. I've got some ideas on how to bring more account/client convos to this side of DTC Twitter. I don't really know what I'm doing here but if i just follow in @HireFireTeam's footsteps I should be fine right?
