Thrilled to have a chapter out in this fantastic edited volume by @Kahinall and Karen Latricia Hough. The book explores how the contemporary UK border is imagined, constructed, deconstructed and reconstructed in multiple ways https://t.co/GtAWhUlkGH

3 Israeli hostages came out frail: everyone loses their minds; non-stop comparisons to the Holocaust, calls for genocidal revenge on all Gazans
100% of Palestinian hostages & detainees came out emaciated skin & bone: doesn't even make a single headline in mainstream media 🙈🙉🙊
🚨BREAKING: The UK government just made a disastrous move—most people who arrived here through irregular paths will never be allowed to become British citizens. Ever

Despite the “ceasefire” in Gaza, the confirmed Palestinian death toll continues to climb every day for 2 reasons:
- Bodies retrieved from the rubble
- Israel continues to kill Palestinians every day in violation of the ceasefire. Over 80 killed so far, 49 of them in Rafah alone.
🔴 Two more Palestinian detainees, ages 25 and 35, have been killed in Israeli custody amid ongoing reports of torture. Neither had pre-existing health conditions.
Prisoner defense groups repeatedly sought access to detainee Ibrahim Ashour, only to repeatedly be told he was in interrogation. He had already been dead for over six months.
“The occupation’s last response was that he was in interrogation and could not be visited. Even though Ashour was killed back in June, occupation authorities did not inform the lawyers until more than six months later. In most of its responses, the occupation claims that the interrogation is ongoing, in an attempt to evade any accountability.”

REPORT: After releasing 90 Palestinian captives on Sunday as part of the ceasefire and exchange deal, Israeli forces detained over 90 Palestinians across the illegally occupied West Bank in the past 24 hours.
At least 20 of those detained have been arrested, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Affairs Authority reports. Detentions include:
▪️ 13 near Nablus overnight
▪️ 18 in Idhna (near Hebron) and Shuweika (near Tulkarem)
▪️ Over 70 detained across two villages near Qalqilya

Breaking: Nearly 1,660 Afghans cleared for U.S. resettlement—including family members of active-duty U.S. military and unaccompanied minors—have had flights canceled after President Trump signed an executive order suspending refugee programs, Reuters reports.
The group includes Afghans at risk of Taliban retribution for supporting the former U.S.-backed government, said Shawn VanDiver, head of #AfghanEvac, and a U.S. official who spoke anonymously.
Thousands more Afghans approved for resettlement remain stranded in Afghanistan and Pakistan without assigned flights.
Israel is continuing to shoot and kill Palestinians in Gaza. Imagine the reaction if Qassam Brigades ambushed Israeli forces. Israel has made very clear it does not respect this agreement.
The EU is facilitating a deadly deportation machine in Turkey that is sending 100s of thousands of Afghans back to the Taliban & Syrians to ongoing conflict

Israel is turning northern Gaza into a killing cage
With international media coverage shifting to potential war with Iran, Israel is intensifying its campaign to obliterate the Palestinians of Gaza

NOW: Israeli forces have launched at least two missiles at dozens of displaced people sheltering in tents at Al Aqsa Hospital in central Gaza. The outpatient clinic building was also hit in the attack, causing a fire to spread in the area.
You can be a celebrity or a ordinary person. If you stay SILENT, PASSIVE, INACTIVE while Palestinians trapped in Gaza - human beings who breath, feel and dream exactly like you - get slaughtered by an unchecked army, you are no different from those who continued to go by their lives during past genocides who erased from earth millions.
Israel is currently bombing Lebanon with 1 million people now displaced, targeting power plants and seaports in Yemen critical for delivering essential aid, while continuing genocide in Gaza where 2 million people are displaced with nowhere to go.
Stop normalizing this insanity.
Drawing on interviews, documentary research, & freedom of information requests, @NikkOstrand examines UK “borderwork creep” into ever more sites in states across #Africa & considers how it's transformed & produced by practitioners on the ground.
