One of the easiest ways to generate more sales from your content is to get your audience to do the selling for you...
This can also be a great way to boost your customer loyalty and LTV through the rooooooof.
And this is the strategy that I used for an influencer who I took from near zero to approx $300k-$350k generated while I was CMO, and we often made a lot of sales without pitching at all…
...And part of the reason is because some of our posts, videos etc were FULL of our buyers praising our product and sharing their success stories...
I knew what to say in the content to make lots of people leave reviews like that without ever needing to ask them to do it.
Obviously, a good product is needed to make this happen…
But that’s actually not the most important part.
Because when it comes to things like courses or supplements, whether or not it’s “good” heavily depends on if people use/implement it…
And then, and here's the part almost no one talks about...
...whether or not they KEEP using it without getting demotivated because it's taking too long to get results...
(Btw, one of the ways to avoid this "demotivation" and build a real brand is to not sell your product as a miracle in a bottle that cures cancer, just wanted to mention that...)
So I fixed this problem in 2 ways:
1) We continued selling the "big idea" behind the product over and over and over and over, until it was basically famous in that niche...
Even after they bought, we kept hammering it oooooover and oooover to our buyers...
And when you do this, customers go from being merely customers to being truly SOLD...
And then they sell other people on it, their friends, anyone looking at the comments on your posts, etc...
Especially when they feel they've got a great product and you don't pitch that much: they almost feel a moral need to go out of their way to do the pitching FOR YOU if you won't do it...
At least, that's what happened with us lol.
2) Don't just sell the end outcome becuase it takes loooong to get it most of the time...
Sell a quick win or feeling that they can IMMEDIATELY identify.
Placebo does a lot of work here, although you shouldn't literally juts sell placebo effects if you have a conscience (or if you don't want to get wrecked by regulators)...
...but that being said... placebo can basically boost whatever short term effect you can ethically market to your customers...
Our product for example allowed them to smash their PR reliably in the gym in the FIRST session... or at least the 2nd/3rd...
Don't ask me how, becuase I don't make money selling it anymore lol.
The "placebo" effect aids with this because that inbuilt belief and motivation to smash the PR that we installed via the marketing actually helps them to do it...
And many people COULD smash their PR but they just don't know it.
The product was also rly good and actually reliably helped them do it so it wasn't fluff.
To summarize...
These 2 things combined can have the effect of turning customers into loyal spokesmen and REPEAT buyers...
Boosting brand awarness, positive social proof, repeat purchases, LTV...
...AND even your ROAS indirectly because of the reputational effect.
So it's a kind of flywheel effect that can build your brand and make all your marketing efforts more effective.
Pretty awsome.
Oh, and here's a bonus for you:
...install a mechanism to generate testimonials at the point of the "quick win."
So the moment they get a quick win, they start selling for you, and in the process they sell themselves more on your brand too which can boost their overall LTV.
There's too many things you can do lol...
This is why I can't just limit myself to being a pure creative strategist and think of myself much more as a growth marketer with a copywriting superpower...
Yes, CS is the primary driver of traffic / acquistion, but there's so many levers you can pull to multiply the value of that traffic and turn it into compounding returns...
It's a truly awesome game with so many opportunities...
If you could only see them ;))
BTW, I'm the guy who sees them... if that wasn't obvious.
Alhamdulillah
You know the problem with needing to hire a specialist for everything in your business…
When things don’t work out, they might throw accountability around like hot potato
“It’s not the creative brief, it’s this guy’s copy”
“Ain’t the copy it’s the landing page…”
“Nah bro, the guy running the traffic is just a human car crash”
And if you YOURSELF haven’t done all their roles at a high level…
How can you tell what the problem is?
You can’t, because it takes a senior to spot a junior :)
I just full-stacked because I didn’t want to rely on all these different people for results…
So I’ve architected, crafted and launched successful offers…
Done full-length funnels, pages, VSLs, etc…
Pulled 6 figures via email…
I run the ads…
I can do everything, with copywriting and deep understanding of psychology being the superpower that makes all the above accessible...
Which means I can actually take full accountability for scaling a brand.
@KevinSzabo14 This is something many copywriters don't get, so they just copy what big brands are doing in terms of hooks...
Not realizing that the first line of their post or their email SL or whatever is NOT their hook..
It's the NAME that stops the scroll
One of the most underrated tests you can run for your offer that almost no one talks about is trying a completely different sales format…
I did one offer that completely FLOPPED and nothing I did on the copy side, messaging or any of that could get it to work (altho it lifted secondary stats a lot like scroll depth etc)...
It didn’t work until another marketer rebuilt the page, using the same angle, positioning, terms, sales arguments and stuff that I came up with…
He mainly just changed the format.
I.e., he made a page that didn’t feel like a funnel, “another sales page,” it all just feels different, even tho it's the samer offer and messaging.
You definitely wanna try this if you're in a market that's been super exposed to sales processes... well, that's most markets these days.
Another lesson is…
If you want to test something early on for your offer, test RADICALLY different things…
A completely different format…
A completely different message…
Etc See less
I architected an info offer for someone and the first version completely flopped…
Then they rebuilt the page and now it’s getting sales at around $60 CPA
It has the same angle, positioning, arguments, even the same phrases, etc.
Even the structure is mostly the same…
The main difference?
The format.
The first page felt like a sales page, smelt like a sales page, and just basically said: “you’ve come to a funnel.”
The market is so jaded at this point that anything you can do to stand out is gonna make a difference…
So you see all these stupid eCom ads using crazy AI hooks with people swimming in matcha lattes or fat babies, or whatever.
The internet is jaded.
So anyway, the new page feels completely different from everything else out there…
Even the offer feels completely different.
As a hint, 50% of the time it’s just selling people via memes that feel like they’re from 2014.
The humor puts your guard down…
You have fun consuming it instead of feeling you’re getting hard pitched.
You buy.
Lessons there.
X grandpas in 2086:
I used to reply to people for 8 hours per day son, I gained 9000 followers...
SON: But how much money did you make?
GRANDPA: *collapses onto the floor*
Anti-AI slop hiring hack:
Hire someone who was already good before mass adoption of AI
AI isn’t necessarily a bad thing but it’s a crutch for a lot of people starting out…
So they never truly drill in the fundamentals.
It’s like a 5 year old just got into being a handy man and starts wielding this massive powertool, he’s gonna mess things up bruh…
I took one offer from $2k/m to $38k generated in 30 days with Meta ads…
And I know everyone’s preaching volume right now but most of that was driven by just ONE ad haha
Granted we tested like 10 different ad copies or smth
I don’t disagree with the volume thing, I just think…
Pump out a volume of BANGERS not a volume of SLOP
A brand is an audience of people who like you and your content, not a list of followers who only followed because you offered them a cookie... one of them can be monetised and the other can't.
Yes if:
- You don't have that much marketing/launches under your belt so the likelihood of making mistakes, or even making an offer that was never gonna work, is much higher
- Your main problem is just overthinking and procrastinating
It's different if:
- You do got a ton of experience and you have strong belief this will work, strong gut feeling, and based on where the market is at this makes sense timing-wise, good product-market fit and stuff
- You also have a BRAND and launching kind of MEH products is gonna affect your brand... plus you probably won't ascend as many people to HT
Personally... I get passionate about building things that are truly AWESOME and I get excited about, so I do spend good time on my projects most of the time. I also have 5+ yrs experience doing this marketing stuff tho
