@Sahilinfra2 L3 is truly classy.... hopefully sooner (rather than later) last mile connectivity to/from stations will catch up to deliver what this city really needs
@SridharanAnand If you ever get the opportunity check out the Starbucks at Brahmaputra River Front, at Guwahati....beats the Horniman Circle one by a wide margin
Train #12262 Duronto. Running 8 hrs late. No food available in First AC. Elderly person travelling. Extremely disappointing standards of service in a "premium train" & "premium category" @RailMinIndia@RailMadad@RailwaySeva@AshwiniVaishnaw@rajtoday
@w_karve Wow! Just saw your message now. Somehow missed it earlier. Thanks for writing back. I too have very fond memories (spent between ages 7-14 there). Take care, Sir!
The Truth Behind the Shift of National College Metro 2B Station at Khar ... finally exposed...
The decision to shift the National College Metro Station at Khar West has long been justified by the flimsy excuse of accommodating a single BMC sewerage inspection chamber. However, the real reason has now come to light, the primary motive is the proposed commercial redevelopment of a prime 6-acre Railway plot on S.V. Road, Khar West.
Had the station remained at its original location, it would have served not only thousands of college students commuting to National College and other nearby educational institutions but also countless other commuters visiting the busy Linking Road for shopping, as well as local residents of the area on a daily basis.
It would have provided much needed last mile connectivity, helping to ease traffic congestion and reduce commute times for daily travellers.
What is being proposed instead is highly impractical : just 1 Metro station at Lucky Hotel, which happens to be one of the busiest and most congested junctions in Mumbai and another at Santacruz near Sacred Heart School, leaving a significant gap with no station in between.
This arrangement ignores the real commuting needs of the people and undermines efficient urban transit planning.
Such decisions clearly reflect how public infrastructure is being compromised for vested commercial interests, with no regard for citizen convenience. The priority should always be enhancing public welfare and solving real commuter challenges, not facilitating profit-driven land use.
It is high time citizens demand transparency, accountability and development that serves the common citizen...
