I'm amazed by the massive speed that Microsoft ships. Bing just revealed its new strategy without much fanfare, but the scope is incredible: they are moving from a product to an ecosystem. The subtle competition between Bing and OpenAI is also heating up. So much to unpack:

- Bing will open up third-party plugins, directly competing with ChatGPT app store. Examples are OpenTable and Wolfram Alpha. Because it's browser-based, the actions are more natural, such as opening a movie in Apple TV.
- Going multimodal: you can have diffusion in the chat loop, powered by Bing Create text-to-image! The search results will also be visually richer: images, videos, and even charts & graphs. GPT-4 is slow to roll out the promised multimodal support - let's see who gets there first!
- Other little features that improve UX greatly: persistent chat, better summary, easy export & share.
