@49ersSportsTalk He was a really good receiver. Great route runner, excellent blocker, and his game was growing. That said, at just over 6 feet and never a speed threat down the field, he wasnt a true #1 receiver. A really good #2 though
@Coach_Yac Yeah, for all the things to cheap out on, I've never understood saving on grass. You should always invest in your own grass for your players ๐
@Coach_Yac His stick alone warrants more playing time. Honestly, he is making a return of Heliot Ramos look obsolete. Not sure how much value he has in a package, Ramos that is, but I wouldnt mind an OF of Bericoto, Cox, and Lee the rest of the way. Bo Davidson is waiting in the wings too
@o0hype0o@Coach_Yac Yep. And George was supportive of BA for a long time too. I think where it went sideways for George and the other vets/captains was when BA stopped showing up for rehab at the team facility, and essentially quit trying to come back from his injury last July
@LosDLF_@Coach_Yac@sportslarryk@BNightengale For sure. Problem is the sport itself is set up in a way that forces you to spend at some point. Uts not like the Yankees and Dodgers miss as well, and miss INCREDIBLY at times, but they are rich enough to overcome it, and their farms are ALWAYS stocked up with premium talent too
@Graham_SFN Agreed. I also thought he looked strong in camp, like he'd been putting in work during and after the draft process, which is good to see ๐
@Coach_Yac I think that Nick is forgetting how much the 49ers hate to set a bad precedence. If you give in to a disgruntled player, and not even an active disgruntled player, what stops future players from trying to do the same things to get released...
@_BodEagle@BontaHill Yeah.. hard to argue that right now. Vitello was more accomplished, even if it was at the collegiate level, but yeah, its a very flawed roster combined with a manager who isnt going to get you 5-8 more wins lets say with his ability
@MarkZuckerman When you are 12 games under, even if you're not, but especially if you are, you leave your starter in there for the 9th. Its over-managing 2026
@Coach_Yac Its got the potential to be really special. I'd still probably swap out Brown for Sigle. Make Marques the FS with Mustapha at SS. Other than that, its a much deeper and more interesting group than it was the last 2 years, no doubt about that
@The_Margrave44@Coach_Yac Hey, you never know, he still has time, provided good health of course. Regardless, he's outplayed his 5th round slot for sure at this point, and he's had to work for everything he's gotten, and for that the Faithful should all be appreciative to have this guy on our side
@NBCSGiants Disappointing. Feels like the same movie, different year, since 2017 (2021 being the outlier). Getting shut out 8 times in 54 games, 3.46 runs/game, Chapman and Adames taking almost two months to find a good swing (Chapman still searching for it consistently), and Webb hurt/bad
@sportslarryk@KNBR Yeah, no matter how this season turns out, even if they make a miraculous run back to respectability, Buster and co. have a TON of house cleaning to do. Not just Chapman, but the JH Lee deals need to go; Bader too.Adames and Devers are likely unmovable, but do you keep Arraez...
