A few thoughts on the Greece decision to move forward with a large air defense acquisition:

Greece approves over $3.4B in air defenses for Achilles’ Shield

The deal is expected to include several Israeli systems. The reports mention David's Sling, a system developed by Israel's Rafael as a long to medium-range interceptor with joint US-Israel support.

It is also expected to include Rafael's Spyder air defense system, which would be the shorter range defense system as part of Athens' seeking to build a multi-tiered air defense system similar to Israel's. Israel's includes Iron Dome, David's Sling and Arrow.

According to Globes "The Israeli air defense systems that Greece is procuring includes Rafael's David's Sling in the long range tier, Israel Aerospace Industries Barak MX in the medium range tier, and Rafael's Spyder in the short range tier."
