NEW: One of the most violent Labor Day weekends in Seattle history is getting worse. Three murders and seven people shot in the city’s busiest corridors.
No sign of socialist Mayor Katie Wilson.
Like I said, avoid Seattle if at all possible.
"In 1936, high school student Roy Campanella was invited by the Phillies to work out Shibe Park, but when he arrived, they discovered he was black, the offer was rescinded.
In 1941, Roy Campanella received a telegram informing him that a tryout with the Pirates was arranged, but Pirates owner Ben Benswanger later reneged on implied arrangement.
"Roy Campanella was held out of the majors until age 26 because he was black.
Roy joined the Dodgers the year after Jackie Robinson broke color barrier.
Roy played ten years in the Negro League, and was taught the skills of catching by Biz Mackey and the game’s greatest catcher, Josh Gibson."
3× NgL All-Star (1941, 1944, 1945).
8× All-Star (1949–1956).
World Series Champion (1955).
3× NL MVP (1951, 1953, 1955).
Negro National League Batting Champion (1945).
Negro League RBI leader (1953).
Despite severe injuries from a near fatal car crash, Roy Campanella never left the game. He regularly ran baseball clinics for kids and could be found until his death at the Dodgers spring training site in Vero Beach Florida, tutoring young catchers in the skills of the position.
NEW: I can now confidently say socialist Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson is either a liar, delusional, or a little bit of both.
Wilson went up on stage at Epic Life Church Wednesday evening and proclaimed the notorious 12th Ave & Jackson St drug den in Chinatown-ID is improving.
That assessment is total B.S. 🤣
Good thing I report on this intersection every week and keep video receipts.
Wilson also touts the LEAD program for helping. But this diversion program is one of the main reasons why criminals remain on the streets.
The reality is Wilson has allowed this Asian American neighborhood to devolve into a human dumping ground.
Wilson admits the CID is even worse on weekends because there aren't enough cops to patrol the streets.
Epic failure in leadership.
@MayorofSeattle
After multiple formal requests during her campaign and after she was elected, Mayor Wilson has ignored us.
She once told me, “I heard things about you.”
Last night she wouldn’t take questions and then walked away from our volunteers who followed her out asking for a few minutes.
That’s not leadership. Our volunteers deserve better.
We’re still here, ready to help her make the bold changes Seattle needs. The door is open. @MayorofSeattle 😭💔
Jonathan Choe names names. Internal emails show legacy journalists like @Shauna_Sowersby and @dospueblos were colluding with Democrats to deny us press passes. They even mocked @choeshow as "a rich guy in flip flops."
Listen to this frustrated Seattle neighbor lecture socialist Mayor Katie Wilson. He says the street crisis is all being fueled by drugs. He gets a standing ovation.
NEW: Pallet Shelter CEO Amy King says she is now exiting the homeless housing space.
So what happens if these unique tiny houses start breaking down like an old dish washer? Will there be replacement parts? Who's doing the repairs? Still tons of unanswered questions after King's abrupt announcement that she's shutting down Pallet.
I spoke to King during the company's grand opening in Seattle's Inter Bay neighborhood in June. Aside from being a builder, she also led a successful workforce development program called Weld.
So I asked King point blank why she would risk her reputation by aligning herself with some of the most notorious homeless housing providers in the region.
She told me this time it would be different.
A man was executed outside Jerusalem in the early 30s AD.
Physically, that's all an observer would have seen.
But the New Testament writers reach for the vocabulary of the courtroom, the temple, the slave market, the battlefield, and the accountant's ledger to describe what was actually happening.
Here's what the cross means, decoded, with the original words.
A thread 🧵
"In my opinion, the greatest game ever pitched was between the San Francisco Giants and Milwaukee Braves on July 2, 1963.
Forty-two-year-old Warren Spahn and 25-year-old Juan Marichal each went 16 innings and the game ended 1-0 on a home run by Willie Mays.
Each pitcher threw over 200 pitches.
Spahn threw 201 and Marichal 227.
There were seven future Hall of Fame players in that game, including Spahn and Marichal.
We will never see that again because the game won’t allow it.
But both guys were prepared to go as long as it took.
And this game was not a fluke, both pitchers won 20 games that season.
For Spahn, it was his 13th 20-win season and for Marichal, it was his first of 6.
My highest pitch count was 232 in a game against the Red Sox in 1974.
I pitched 12 innings, struck out 19, walked 10, and had a no decision.
My counter-part, Luis Tiant threw 180 pitches in 14 1/3 innings and took the loss 4-3.
We were on a 4-man rotation and pitched on 3 day’s rest.
I had 26 complete games in 1973 and 1974 and didn’t even lead the league.
Gaylord Perry had 29 in 1973 and Ferguson Jenkins had 29 in 1974."

By 1968, all of the original WB Looney Tunes animators had left or been fired.
This is one of the last WB ever produced called NORMAN NORMAL
It's very weird, definitely not for kids, and it's kind of brilliant
