@BBCNews Shocking that people are signing this petition! People should invest in a reusable straw or simply drink from the cup. The only people who should have access to plastic straws are people who need them, like the disabled.

@holly Some people are just selfish and/or are refusing to believe how terrible plastic straws are for the environment and sea creatures. Either buy a reusable straw or drink straight from the cup. Plastic straws should only be offered to people who need them like the disabled.

@ARBannister McDonald's is doing the right thing. Some humans can be so disappointing at times. I'm not a huge fan of paper straws but they are way better option than plastic ones. I have invested in metal ones that I use over and over again.
