Qatar, which owns Al Jazeera, may well be the world’s biggest propagator of the most brutal and illiberal version of Islam ever developed.
And the ignorant, incoherent West is okay with it.
1939 and 2024 - Nihilists Versus Creativists
In Auschwitz’ today I experienced hope and uncertainty, old and new sadness. I left worried and optimistic about the rhymes and rhythms of history. I also left with Tikva, hope, HaTikva.
My son called as I left Warsaw this morning to head to the March of the Living at Auschwitz.
“Hi Dad. They are taking my phone away. I guess we are going back into Gaza.” Gulp. “I am proud of you,” I said. “I love you. Keep your head up and knock em dead.”
The sages teach us that he who is compassionate to cruel people will ultimately come to be cruel to compassionate people. Cruel people should be shown no compassion.
I arrived at the March of the Living as it was already in progress, passing many cities and towns that Jews came from before World War II. As my wife says: Towns from stories we all heard as kids.
Outside the March, a small group of pro-Hamas or Palestinian protestors were shouting at the marchers (pictured below). I could not make out what they were saying.
I joined up with Dan Fefferman and Sharaka for the March. Sharaka brings Jews and Muslims together to promote co-existence and a better future. I marched into Auschwitz with Alina One, the brave Muslim woman who spoke at the Washington Rally against anti-semitism. I walked in with Suleiman of Atidna, a Muslim Israeli group mainstreaming into Israeli society founded by the late Daliah Fadida, who tragically passed away last year. I walked in with Yaara, and Yusuf and Deba, some in Hijabs and others with Moroccan caps and some with stars of David.
At the entrance to Auschwitz I stopped to think about Zayde, my wife’s grandfather who passed away a couple of years ago and survived four concentration camps. My first thought was “never again is now.” My second thought was “as zaida was leaving the concentration camps after years, where did he think he could go? Where would he go other than to look for his mother who he did not even know if she was alive!” I paused to contemplate the uncertainty of a young survivor whose entire youth was enveloped with hatred of Jews. That was 1945.
I have been thinking a lot about the current time we are living in. Why is an Islamic theocracy in Iran partnered with communist Russia? I think I know. In the horseshoe theory of politics the fringes are closer than you think even if one is called right and the other is called left.
The world is divided into two types of people today. Nihilists and creativists. Iran and Russia are nihilists. One sees no value in this world because the radical islamists like Hamas and Tehran see a better world packed with virgins and sweets in the next world. Russian communist ideology sees no value in the human spirit or in creating a better future. Putin is a nihilist.
The same is true on college campuses. These young stupid kids have been fed nihilism. The climate crisis will destroy the world so why have children. The pandemic eradicated social behavior and let more nihilism seep in. They have no families and their parents birthed them at such a late age that they have no connection to the past. They are unrooted.
They hate Jews and Israel because we create and procreate and refuse to give in to this nihilism. They hate moderate Muslims and chase them out of influential positions because people like Anila want to create in this world. Want to make space for others to create.
Nihilists have a keen sense for weakness in others. They sense a vacuum that can create space for their destruction. The only way to beat back a nihilist is to stop them harshly. Because they have little to lose, because they are not trying to create this world, only severe punishment works.
They nihilists sense the fecklessness of university presidents who gave a foot and then had these students take a mile. For example, Columbia graduation was cancelled because meek Shoufik did not beat this back immediately and forcefully. The nihilists have nothing to lose, those who did not beat them back and cowered caused thousands of wonderful students to wonder forever what a college graduation ceremony would be like.
The Nazi nihilists wiped out 6 million Jews because for years nobody stood up. Nobody said “not letting this happen on my watch”.
Rabbi Marc Schneier said on stage at the March of the Living Ceremony that 2024 is not 1939. Humbly that depends. It depends on a coalition of the willing. A creativist coalition that wants to make this a better world. We have allies but we all need to stand up together. We must build A brave civic and leadership coalition, one willing to take risks like our children did when they put everything aside to defend their country and western values. We must commit to make the world better for our children and grandchildren which starts by having them. We must insist on a coalition of leaders who put principle ahead of politics. We have to take personal risk, like our children, to make it happen.
That young survivor Abram Kurcfeld who became Zayde has great grandchildren who rose to the moment. One Of them was now Back on his way to Gaza as I was walking into Auschwitz. Never again is now I thought.
When I walked into Auschwitz I knew I could go back to the sovereign state of Israel where our kids are not confused. I kept wondering where Zayde thought he was going in 1945. One of the people I met walking with Sharaka told me that the pro-Hamas protestors were shouting that we should all go back into Auschwitz and perish there and were uploading videos of it to TikTok. Nihilism is back. It is back on college campuses and it is back at the gates of Auschwitz on Holocaust Remembrance Day. But I could go back to the sovereign state of Israel. The land of Hatikva - of hope.
The grandchildren and great grandchildren of Zayde are having none of it. We are standing up. Building coalitions with other creativist and optimistic children of Abraham. I marched with many of them today.
The big question is are you standing up? Are you beating back Nihilism and Nihilists. Are you building the future for our people, our kids and the other compassionate children of Abraham? If not, get out of our way.
The ceremony ended with the singing of Hatikva, the Israeli national anthem. Hatikva means hope. We have hope and optimism to offer the world. Khameni, Hamas and Putin have nothing to offer. They are Nihilists. I sang Hatikva and looked around at the kids draped in Israeli flags, my co-marchers in hijabs and people from all over the world and I said thank God I have where to go. We must recommit to make Israel and the world a beacon of hope and creativity. Of excellence and Tikva. We owe it to Zayde and to our kids and grandkids to make it so.

Since the war in Sudan began last April, more than 8 million people have been forced from their homes in search of safety. Nearly 2 million of them have fled Sudan to neighboring countries. Of those who remain, 18 million are facing acute hunger, with 5 million a step away from famine.
In Al-Lait refugee camp people are eating dirt and leaves. Survivors of massacres tell horrific stories of sexual violence and gang-rapes.
Threat of 'large-scale massacre' in Sudan's Darfur is imminent, US official says. “There are already credible reports that the RSF and its allied militias have razed multiple villages west of El Fasher,” U.N. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield told reporters at the United Nations. “And as we speak, the RSF is planning an imminent attack on El Fasher.”
But the world is still obsessed with massacre-supporting ignorant and spoiled college students, who could care less about human suffering, if it doesn't suit their political agenda.

Welcome to the “Can’t make this stuff up” show.
A barbaric terrorist organization attacks a democratic country, murders over a thousand innocent people, rapes, beheads, and burns countless others. The world takes their side. Can’t make this stuff up.
After committing those horrible atrocities, the same organization releases casualty numbers from their side, and the world believes them blindly. Can’t make this stuff up.
In 2024, and Jewish students and professors are being blocked from entering their own universities and the Jews who are on campus are being bullied, harassed, and assaulted. In 2024. Can’t make this stuff up.
The camp that leads all the antisemitic activities on and off campus call themselves liberals and progressives even though the people they are marching for share zero progressive or liberal values. Can’t make this stuff up.
There are anti Jewish marches throughout America calling to globalize the intifada, aka blow up buses around the world, all in the name of the Middle East conflict but not one such march happened in the actual Middle East. Can’t make this stuff up.
Throughout all the elite American universities, there are actual criminals and terrorists openly calling for genocide and somehow the universities are cool with this. Can’t make this stuff up.
International organizations like the UN and the ICJ are calling to issue warrants for the arrest of Israeli officials but not a single word about Hamas. Can’t make this stuff up.
International pressure on Israel to end the war is increasing with close to no pressure on Hamas to release the hostages. Can’t make this stuff up.
Words like genocide and apartheid are being thrown around in regard to Israel when in reality, Israel’s enemy Hamas has declared its actual desire to commit genocide, something it tried on October 7th. Add to that that Arabs are free in Israel but if a Jew steps foot in a Palestinian village or town, he won’t leave alive. Can’t make this stuff up.
The Red Cross has not visited Israeli hostages once since October 7th, and everyone seems to be ok with that. They had one job. Can’t make this stuff up.
The countries/regions attacking Israel include Gaza, Judea and Samaria (aka the West Bank), Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, and that’s just on the military front. Yet somehow, Israel is the oppressor, Israel is the strong side. Can’t make this stuff up.
There are actual people comparing innocent women and children held in Hamas dungeons to mass murderers held in Israeli prisons. Can’t make this stuff up.
There are many thousands of people calling for a ceasefire and then in the next breath, they call to globalize the intifada. Those two things can’t co-exist. Can’t make this stuff up.
The same people accusing Israel of genocide are the same people chanting from the river to the sea, which literally means the erasure of Israel, aka actual genocide of Israelis. Can’t make this stuff up.
Actual Hamas terrorists are hiding in Rafah and yet the world wants to prevent Israel from entering and eliminating them. Can’t make this stuff up.
There are still people going with the “It’s not antisemitism. It’s just anti Zionism.” claim when random Jews are being attacked simply for being Jewish. Can’t make this stuff up.
Even according to Hamas’ made up numbers, this war has significantly less casualties than countless conflicts around the world, and yet, it’s all anyone’s talking about. Can’t make this stuff up.
Radical Islam has become a global plague that is infiltrating America as we speak, and no one has the guts to say it out loud. Can’t make this stuff up.
The fact that Hamas did what they did came as a surprise to many, even though murdering Jews and infidels is mentioned in the Quran many times. Can’t make this stuff up.
Thousands use the freedom of speech given to them by the United States to chant “Death to America.” on American soil. Can’t make this stuff up.
This entire war from beginning to end makes zero sense and it seems like no one else is paying attention.
What happened to logic? What happened to reason? Morality? Ethics? Truth?
What happened to critical thinking?
In such a short time, the world has gone nuts and we all just go on with our day as if any of this is normal.
Can’t make this stuff up.
🤡 "Palestinian make-up artist is creating horrific looking injuries on actors"
This is NOT satire! They are documenting a Pallywood make-up artist as if its an actual career!

Since we are hearing once more of battles in “refugee camps” and about UNRWA ‘unable to do its work’ - reposting this two-part post on why neighborhoods in Gaza are called “refugee camps” and an exposition of UNRWA’s real work and purpose:
Many people are wondering about what’s happening on U.S. campuses.
While I can’t speak about all other college campuses, I can definitely give you an insider’s view about @Columbia University.
(this thread may be a bit long, but trust me: it's worth it)
Just putting this out there. The Jewish state has a reputation of jumping to the assistance of other nations in times of tragedy.
Over the past two and a half months while under daily rocket fire from Gaza, Lebanon and Yemin, we have been identifying mutilated bodies, burying our dead, searching for abducted hostages, caring for tens of thousands of evacuated civilians, and fighting an army of genocidal Islamist psychopaths who if given a chance will come back to rape and torture more of our women and children.
The world at best offers minimal support and that tied to demands that we restrain and not over react.
.@daliaziada is Director of a Middle East think tank and author of a book on Islamists. Listen to her explain to you the core of this Israel vs Hamas war and how it is about something much bigger than a land claim-and how you, in the west, are involved.https://t.co/cBi3GmOMAb
@jeremycorbyn There was a ceasefire on Oct 6th. Hamas broke it. As they did all prior ceasefires. And they themselves publicly proclaimed they will repeat oct 7th again and again
There is no "permanent" ceasefire with Hamas terrorists bent on killing all Jews. But maybe that's what you want...
