States have demanded that "Lightning" be considered a Natural Disaster so that victims,mostly farmers,are entitled to compensation under the SDRF.
Bihar itself had 107 deaths until July 6. In 2021 (NCRB), deaths due to lightning comprised 40% of all deaths by "Forces of Nature".
