There's a reason buses stop close to signals, all around the world. Many passengers need to switch buses at intersections, e.g. from N-S route to E-W route. If the stop is not close to the signal, that dissuades people from taking the bus, especially since the sarkar hasn't built walkable footpaths. If we're going to move the bus stops, we should build walkable footpaths for 100 m or more from every signal. And ideally, do that first. Making public transport options EASY is the key.
One of the very first things that any minister could have done long ago is create a public road history, and put that on a browsable map interface. Lots of wasteful spending can be disciplined by shedding light on it and letting the public see and analyse the data. @krishnabgowda
BNP's ward walk has brought attention to the growing garbage dumping around Begur Lake.

@srikanthn1975 For Bangalore to become the best city in the world we all need to come together. Ramayan teaches us the value of righteousness and how to built a good city
The reason Bengaluru's roads are in poor condition is not because contractors don't know how to build roads, but because the tendering and contract allocation process is mired in corruption and misgovernance.
50% of the contracts in the past have been awarded to one agency called KRIDL, which is a corrupt organization designed to siphon off money, and which currently is under investigation by ED.
For the other 50% of the projects, the contractor is pre-decided (relative of the politician)!
Competent & capable contractors who want to focus on quality work are threatened with delayed payments and kept out of the tendering process.
The result is predictable. Roads are built poorly, roads are dug up repeatedly, public money is spent & siphoned off, and citizens continue to suffer from potholes and flooding.
This is not an engineering problem. It is a governance problem.
Until there is transparency and accountability in the tendering process, Bengaluru will continue to spend thousands of crores without getting the infrastructure it deserves.
The Bengaluru Development Minister needs to ask questions to the Ministers & Politicians, including from his own party (and not the Officials), to get the right answers.

@Kuma50531Kumar The area marked/enclosed in Red 🟥 is commonly reffered to as WHITEFIELD by everyone (individuals, business outlets, directories, etc.) while the actual WHITEFIELD is the one marked in Green 🟩
I led a @ficci_india CEO delegation to China and visited companies like BYD, Geely, Midea, Mindray.
My 3 top takeaways:
1. China is like a no frills fighting ring. Extremely competitive. Businesses operate at margins (2-3%) global boards would never approve. Only market share matters and there is no concept of ROI. The few who survive are the toughest and the best.
2. R&D and automation are at the highest levels. The scale of automation and R&D investment at these companies is built for a 10-year time horizon, not a quarterly one. They celebrate innovators, have walls of patents and dark factories with unmatched efficiency.
3. The state is a silent shareholder everywhere. Cheap capital, land, power, and policy support at a scale that fundamentally changes unit economics. As long as you service interest (@ only 2-3%), debt doesn’t have to be paid back. This isn’t a level playing field.
“Our politicians don’t understand Bengaluru.
A 1.3 km flyover that could’ve taken the govt three years was built by a private developer for free in just 8 months.. from design to completion.
The real problem isn’t capability. It’s bureaucracy.” 🔥
@VishnuBengaluru@NammaBNP@lalli_bv@srikanthn1975@PoongothaiBLR It's my daily commute and the condition has gone worse.
Moreover, they've closed several U-turns and internal roads that could be taken to avoid BG Road.
Appreciate BNP relentlessly following up on this..
