I can never forget what my mum did when my auntie’s husband died.
He was from Ugwaji, Awkunanaw, Enugu South LGA. He died in the hospital from acute myocardial infarction at just 55. My auntie was only 40, with three children—two boys and a girl.
Immediately after he died, my auntie called my mum.
My mum told her, “Don’t inform his family yet. I’m coming.”
My mum went there, dragged my auntie to her house and told her, “Dry your tears. Focus. Bring out all your husband’s land documents and car papers.”
My auntie brought everything and handed them to my mum. My mum took the documents home.
Then they went back to the hospital, and my auntie informed her in-laws of their brother’s death.
These people didn’t even wait for the burial.
While my auntie was still at the hospital transferring his body to the mortuary, they went behind her back, entered her house and ransacked the place looking for the documents.
They didn’t find anything.
So they came to the hospital and started harassing her, demanding to know where her husband’s documents were.
My auntie told them her husband had taken a huge bank loan, which was why there were so many documents.
They believed her.
After the burial, my auntie contacted a solicitor, sold her husband’s properties and used the money to relocate to Canada with her children.
Till today, I remember what my mum did that day.
She understood something my auntie was too heartbroken to understand at that moment: when a man dies, some people don’t see a grieving widow—they see property.
My mum made sure the documents were safe before the vultures could get to them.
I know many young people who finished their studies have traversed this country, offices & businesses etc to look for jobs.
They have well written CVs. Question is, how many employers take seriously these CVs? Don’t get me wrong. CVS are very important. Your education, biodata, previous jobs, personal interests etc are very important.
But, employers want to find out if you can do the job. If you appreciate the entity. If can add value to the organization. Your grades & CGP at the university don’t mean much to them.
So, they offer you an opportunity to work as if you’re on internship. No contract. This means you’ve been told to work with out a structured salary. You pay for your transport & lunch.
Unknown to you, someone is studying your commitment. Your capabilities. Your work ethic. How you relate with others. Your social media usage. Your patience & appearance.
I implore you to accept the “terms”. Be patient, work your schedule, observe time, be disciplined, show commitment to team work, & resilience to challenges.
You will be shocked when a contract is tossed at your desk to sign. Once you do, remain who you were during “internship” but learn more & unleash your best to the job. Do not trade anything for the job. God bless you.

As you continue crucifying @DoreenNasaasira, this is what I normally tell my sons if they want to be successful in life.
✅ Fear God
✅ Respect your parents & others
✅ Humility & discipline
✅ Study, work hard & get money
✅ It’s your responsibility to provide for your wife & family. If you don’t work, no daughter of anyone worth her salt will marry you. Even if she earns more money than you, never remain at home in bed while others go to work expecting to be woken up for dinner bought by your wife. Even if you don’t have the cash flow at a certain point, it’s not that you didn’t try. Your money may be held up in processing or planning to get your next job. Your wife understands. But, it’s not a ticket for laziness & procrastination.
✅ You owe no one your life & what you want to be, but you.
As you discuss her opinion, you don’t need to punch below the belt. You even don’t need to insult her physical & mental health to drive your point home. You never medically examined her. Leave that to the weak & wicked. God loves us all. We’re all a true reflection of God. Good morning and stay blessed.
@Kall_essy y'all in the CS saying its not true in the first place why did they even think of it yet there were different venues where they could have held the funeral 🤔
I ended a two weeks relationship because I asked we both get medically tested before taking things further, and he refused. He said he's not going for any test and tried to gaslight me with the "you're very insecure" line.
Even when he later ageeed, he insisted we must use the hospital he recommended and I said fine but we would also go to mine as well, even offered to pay for it. He lost it and said said I'm not submissive and have trust issues.
Call it whatever you like but I didn't abstain for a long time to get infected by someone all in the name of relationship. Alot of people are sick and you'll never know until you get them tested. You call it trust issues, I call it looking out for myself.
@tonvionny That's how I eliminate friends. You borrow n set period within which to pay it back, if it passes with a request for an extension or part payment, it is toodles to our friendship.
