I’m so proud that you all can finally see a mouse with the shape I worked so hard on.
Every vertex was placed with love, I really poured my heart and soul into this for you guys.
Unprecedented care was used as I knew any imperfection would be felt by the hands of thousands.
I can hopefully explain a little bit of that.
Say you're a small-medium sized brand.
Lets assume the mouse itself costs $40 to produce.
If it's an original shape, you also have to pay for your own mold and testing the shape over and over again. This alone costs in the tens of thousand of dollars.
Then we have to factor in shipping costs to get it to your global warehouses. Then you have to pay import duties. Then you have to pay your warehouse workers for fulfillment, including shipping boxes, storage etc.
You have to pay for 3d renders. Assets. Edited videos. Website. Socials. Review units. Refunds/returns. Shopify fees, PayPal fees. Chargebacks. These add up to tens of thousands of dollars.
Then you have to pay the people that work for you a salary.
Then you have to pay yourself and any other owners a salary.
Then you have to pay taxes for your company.
Then you still have to turn a profit, otherwise you can't even fund the next production(s) you have in the pipeline, where lots of money can be tied up for months or even years.
A product that costs $40 to produce might be closer to $80 if you factor in all those things.
I didn't even mention R&D time, firmware development, or sensor tuning, which are massive hidden costs.
@sillycatfan2006@staticdots it is 44% to 54% faster, not 20%. intel gpu drivers horrible (especially for the alchemist arch). you’d be better off getting a cheap capture card imo. the 1080ti has 3gb more vram and is equivalent to a 4060 when overlocked. lastly power draw shouldn’t matter for unless mining.
