@woodcarl60@wischlist Daughter born early—only 3 lbs. and wife almost died after losing 4 pints of blood. Illini D struggled as Crocker worked through the crisis (spending all free time at hospital). Daughter & wife safely home for Houston & Iowa games. Defense is healed. Destiny intact. I-L-L, I-N-I.
@sportsfanrvm@nut_history I would agree with everything here except the wet ground. Wet on a sunny day? That’s not Candlestick. It could actually get very warm on a sunny day. Also, people talk about how cold it was at night, but most times after 7 PM, the wind would die down.
@BBarn64@IlliniLearfield Best broadcasting duo in the conference! Pregame, postgame and all the action in between. I sync with the tv (check https://t.co/3MFeHP0mZg) and never miss the hometown feed. Tip: When a basket is scored, wait one beat and pause the tv. Then unpause when you hear it go in.
@LookingOver2025 It was based on mid-1960’s dancing because it was made in 1964. Basically a slice from the “modern” dancing of the day. They didn’t need this movie specifically—it was all over TV and movies. Laugh-In, Hullabaloo, Shindig and American Bandstand are your most likely sources.
