@brice_deg This is so nice. I really want to implement this for my portfolio. Can you guide me step by step on how you did it and also think that you are guiding a newbie 😚
@pmarca at this pt better off designing using interchangeable parts avail from multiple foreign vendors & forcing them to compete 4 our business as we apply the tech. they become trapped in the capitalist system as we are. Or we go there and make them. US healthcare cost the problem.
@pmarca Lol no it's just your imagination! We are definitely not on the cusp of a phase change nor are we inching towards the hyperbolic portion of an industrial revolution
@pmarca This sounds right. However, for an institution that considers itself such a champion of the scientific method, educators sure do have a tendency to make statements like this without real evidence or outcomes to point to.
@pmarca A quick point before that - it is true that many academics are sceptical of exams for 'pedagogical reasons'. That isn't the main obstacle here and many former sceptics now acknowledge that AI has changed things.
@pmarca I think what pisses me off the most about that clip of Pokimane saying rich people like her are okay but the “ultra rich” are bad is that there is absolutely no universe where Pokimane deserves her money more than Jeff Bezos deserves his. This is incredibly obvious
@Rothmus specialization and trade allows a handful of hyperfunctional people to get a lot done for everyone, which in turn also allows people to get away with being less and less functional. in this sense civ actually enables dysfunction, most of us wouldn't survive without it
@pmarca Magic solutions are great and it is adversity/aspiration that drives evolution of better minds and bodies. Unless you want to be a blob with a state funded robot Nanny (30% of advanced economies). Find something hard and motivating to shape a better future for yourself.
@elonmusk That is so cool. Being able to fix any part of the brain. Call me greedy but I'm waiting for the one that goes across my injury in my spinal cord so I can move some things again. Regardless, this is absolutely beautiful for humanity.
