@BradBrains27@Husky3731@JoaoLim16418263@Rain_persona@Atlus_West the life sim stuff doesn't have to be self insert at all, even in blank slate RPGs I don't see myself in the character I'm developing, they're just a character I'm developing
But Persona protags are far more pre developed than a blank slate.
@GenTeddie23 On one hand, the combat and dungeon crawling isnt what draws me to Persona at all because I really enjoy characters and character writing more than anything else.
On the other, not having it doesn't make P1 and 2 bad because they weren't built around it. They're their own thing.
@kafkarotto@lionheartaxe0 it includes the p3p content that mattered, just play p3p if you want Kotone it's much more easily accessible than FES
I will forever maintain that Kotone fans don't care about anything that gave p3 it's charm because she is NOT required to capture it.
@lionheartaxe0 I love FES, it's one of my favorite games of all time, but Reload is pretty much the next best thing, the best way to easily replay it on current systems, and a great way to introduce most people to one of my favorite stories ever.
@lionheartaxe0 they either
A) don't actually care about themes and story of P3 and only want to play as the girl protag they added as an afterthought
B) are super over the top purists that can't handle change and feel the entire world NEEDS to know how irrationally angry it makes them
Me and my friends love to jokingly say "That movie was just one scene after another. Nothing happened!" to make fun of brain dead, ADHD fueled takes on movies.
It's supposed to be a ridiculous oversimplification of those takes...
What I wouldn't give for Leeds, San Diego, North, New England, and Toronto to be able to make their own individual games again.
It was cool when they went all hands on deck with RDR2 but now it feels like they've been trapped in a cycle of having to one-up that
With the announcement of the Rockstar Game Workers Union happening and London, Leeds, Dundee and Lincoln joining Rockstar's North union, as great as it is in the short term, long term I am a bit worried what this means for the devs there. Execs will find some way of circumventing this.
The more demands they make and the more unionising that happens the more it will make the heads outsource more of the work to another studio or move more of the workflows to Rockstar India, unfortunately that's the nature of business.
Ive said it before but if Rockstar was a car then Rockstar India is the engine. I am in India next month and meeting with some devs in Bangalore during my brief stint there so I will be interested if what is happening in the UK is having much of an effect in the Bangalore studio and devs there.
