Mert on why you build on Solana, live at Solana Summit Serbia:
"You really don't have another choice today. There is no chain that can do more scale, that has incubated more startups disproportionately given the market cap, that has all the liquidity concentrated in one venue."
"Core devs are already bringing block times down to 300 milliseconds, which was 400 a few weeks ago. More activity onchain means more financial activity, more users, more startups, more funding. It's the flywheel of creating the Silicon Valley."
"Why Solana? It's by far the best in scalability, performance, and startup ethos. Failing is accepted here because you can just get up and try again."
"And we have some pretty good memes."

Sgp-3 burn based on requested CUs is basically the same thing as we had a year ago, with 50% of the priority fees burned. Priority is priced per requested CU. If there were no side channel attacks, and 12 different teams weren’t building alternative tpu ports, it’s a super easy way to align incentives.
It’s sgp-3 is just a static price per requested CU instead of a dynamic. The starting value is well below the 50% burn we had a year ago. It’s pretty close to the current signature base fee. A lot of complains are about an end state that I think is unrealistic.
There is no way the validators will approve a static price that is more than the 50% burn of whatever the priority fees are because that will just take way too much off validator revenues.
Here’s to the crazy ones. The traders. The creators. The builders.
The ones that bought when everyone said crypto was dead. The ones that posted when the algo was cooked. The founders that shipped when there were no users.
The ones who see things differently.
They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them.
Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.
Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.
