Listen, I get it. Wanting Shattered Cycle so Renegades isn’t the last Destiny 2 expansion makes sense. But Monument of Triumph became the real ending because we actually LOST the game and the IP. Our voices brought it back.

The damage was already done, layoffs, story beats from Shattered Cycle and beyond folded into Monument of Triumph. That’s why the Winnower cutscene matters. It lets us jump forward in time.

"Do what you do best: impose your will. That’s what a weapon’s for, after all! End it on your terms. This is what you wanted, isn’t it? In your heart of hearts? Don’t worry. When it’s over, I won’t abandon you. Take a breather. Take your libations. Let that vigor seep back into your bones. Get hungry."

Let them finish making Destiny 2 whole, remaster Destiny 1 for the people who’ve never played it, and then give us a real sequel that picks up the Winnower Saga and actually feels like an upgrade.

Just some closing week thoughts for you all

The biggest thing is, thank you. Your response to our comms this week has injected our team with so much energy and hope, please know that

The next is, I know there are a lot of questions on the how, what, when of unvaulting. Including any potential future updates to D2 and what’s beyond for Destiny

There’s going to be a very intentional process for all of it that will take time. But over the next few weeks (targeting prior to the end of October) we’ll talk about what our first step is going to look like with more clarity

But instead of a traditional ‘roadmap’ comms I’d rather talk about it through the lens of a progress bar. Bring you all closer, more consistently to our dev milestones. And just be transparent about any challenges we run into and show you the proof of work along the way that unlocks further understanding

That way when we share a release date we’re all on the same page and have the right expectations that leads directly into how we'll further celebrate Destiny's legacy and vision for the future
