@JGillRay@fleurmeston I don’t think we should reward fecklessness - I just agree that the children should be supported to break the cycle. Stop paying welfare and hand out childcare vouchers instead.
@bphillipsonMP If only you had led with this rather than taxing education, I think you would have more support. You see, we all want every child to succeed, we just don’t want our choices of education removed by outlandish taxes that do nothing to help vulnerable children.
@rwoolfy29@NoVATonschools@PolitlcsUK@bphillipsonMP I agree with that, the Gov should subsidise this through reducing welfare. Some initiative that goes straight to the children to enhance their life chances. Hand out childcare vouchers rather than cash.
@hayek_tendency@bphillipsonMP Possibly as they are caught in a benefit cycle. Help their children prosper so they don’t rely on state handouts. This will help children in poverty🤷🏻♀️ Gov should subsidise this initiative with less welfare to the parents so the money goes direct to help the children.
@NoVATonschools@PolitlcsUK@bphillipsonMP There is far left unspoken about some parents priorities and parenting skills but at the end of the day it is the children that grow to be our next generation that genuinely need support which is what needs to be addressed and I hope this will be a step towards that.
@NoVATonschools@PolitlcsUK@bphillipsonMP It is unfair, I totally agree. I just think this would go more towards helping children really in need than the vindictive tax on education that doesn’t do anything to help other than bring children down. @bphillipsonMP should have led with this and she would have more support
@PolitlcsUK Maybe if this had been @bphillipsonMP flagship policy rather than the vindictive VAT on education, she would have far more supporters 🤷🏻♀️
@NoVATonschools@PolitlcsUK I have never agreed with @bphillipsonMP but this makes sense to improve life chances of some children. No child choses the family they are born into but if this will help them from an early age where their own families are not able to provide support then that is a win 🤷🏻♀️
As we keep saying, those wealthy folk can move to a nice little catchment, where house prices are far more than independent school fees…But this is ok because these are state schools, even tho many children will never be able to attend these good schools as they are priced out.
@Ameer_Kotecha@Govt_Reform 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ I have no words … I genuinely fear for my child’s future. It’s the same with MP’s, people with no experience in the field being appointed as minister. I really don’t understand how those with no real life experience are left to be in charge?? Totally reckless.
@cooperphil156@KemiBadenoch You are taking your facts from Bridget’s posts 😂 they are not factual-she says she is on target to reach 6000 new teachers..the real figures tell a different story. Why do you think she stops people from commenting on her other social media pages?
@Grapefruit_Juce@1ohreally@kay88297@_lliesl_@KemiBadenoch All children should be provided with the best possible outcomes, why are the government not reducing overseas spending or welfare payments and redirecting it to really benefit our next generation?? Our children deserve better.
@Grapefruit_Juce@1ohreally@kay88297@_lliesl_@KemiBadenoch I don’t think anyone would disagree with you that more spending needs to go into education. I just don’t agree this policy is right because it doesn’t impact the wealthy, it impacts families that were struggling to do right by their children and sacrificing elsewhere.
@markspeaking@KemiBadenoch No, some send their children to independent schools because their local schools are so dire. Ours has been in need of improvement for the last 15 years, why would we chose to send our child there? Would you? What would you do in our situation??
@welsh_ad@KemiBadenoch I don’t think that your comment is factually correct. Actually, I know it isn’t. Anyone choosing state schools pays zero towards independent schools. But those that use independent schools still pay their taxes that go towards funding state schools.
@alexhrbfc@KemiBadenoch The policy isn’t raising any money for state schools. Remember, Labour didn’t want to track revenue raised because that was never what this policy was about. It was always about closing independent schools
