A movement started by Natalie Banks @infernojourno Responsible for rallies in WA; inspiring an international upswell against shark culls & @nosharkcull1
Minister @Davekellymp is correct. It was one of our community members that referred the 2014 shark cull proposal to the @EPA_WA & a few of our members were ready to do it again if the Govt didn’t refer the 2019 proposal; ensuring no major environmental impacts of the proposal.
@zrfk I’m a Mandurah local against drum lines, was looking forward to attending & seeing what other options are put forward, even from out of town ppl who will visit, a piss poor excuse to postpone, Zak you put it out there step up & listen to the ppl & learn.. #environment#sharks
We're 150 away from our first 1000 signatures to stop @WALabor from putting baited drum-lines on our beaches.
Taxpayer funds should only be spent on proven shark-safety measures which improve safety for both humans and marine life, not risky placebos.

One of my fav #sharksafety supporters, Simon was on @6PR talking with @oliverpeterson about the drum-line proposal. Have a listen. You'll see why I'm fired up about 'placebos'.
People die in our oceans. We need solutions not placebos.

A well written petition against the use of SMART drum lines in Western Australia. It points to many reasons, why their use in Gracetown may end up causing more problems than benefits.

WA Government need to learn from South Africa & Miami Florida, both tourist attractions for sharks and surfers paradise. WA should look globally and embrace modern tech; & not be so insular. Sharks are not the enemy...humans are! https://t.co/Cy2Yxd35Ln
Ouch @LibbyMettam@lindareynoldswa - do you feel that burn? Are you really fighting for another reason to stuff up the climate even more? Eeeek! No wonder why WA voted in @MarkMcGowanMP and @Davekellymp https://t.co/UE4Y7pt8pK
Sir David Attenborough says WA tiger sharks help fight climate change.
Just a reminder that the WA Liberal Party under Colin Barnett had no problems slaughtering tiger sharks in there hundreds as a way to supposedly reduce shark encounters - it didn’t!

Four years ago we rallied together across Australia and then internationally to stand up against the Western Australia’s misguided shark cull policy. We fought them on the beaches .... everywhere ... and eventually we won! People power at its best!
Western Australia Fisheries Minister @Davekellymp rejects @JoshFrydenberg’s call to start #shark control/culling. Glad someone read last weeks Senate report specifically recommending removal of lethal shark control programs! https://t.co/F0e0KvuwQA
@lindareynoldswa@walabor@JoshFrydenberg@australian By the way we have 6,520 active members in @NoWASharkCull and they are ready to stand up again for sharks in WA. here's a couple of pics from the first protest at Cottesloe beach in case you have forgotten.
Twice as many adult great white sharks inhabit the waters off our west coast compared with our east coast & yet the WA Labor Government does LESS than Qld & NSW to protect people against shark attacks. Tougher measures are overdue. Human life is paramount. https://t.co/jCfRoOX1Ux
