My view just south of the Kankakee tornado in the first minute it was reported to have touched down by @NWSChicago. Video starts at exactly 4:18PM. Never seen motion like that from the entire meso before. Textbook RFD surge. The inflow nearly ripped my phone from my hands
This one's gonna be hard to top. Went full storm chase mode keeping tabs on the wind and available escape routes this Wednesday for episode 24 of the Kilauea eruption. Lucky I didn't lose my eyebrows from peering over the edge.
This was the cell that produced a very intense tornado near Marion, IL, just 30 minutes before the tornado
I need to quit meteorology because I sincerely know nothing
Well, me and @wx_just just nearly zero-metered a tornado on Easter. What about you?
Tornado on supercell near Cabot, AR at 7:00 p.m. today. Really insane chase. @KATVJames @WxZachary@NWSLittleRock#ARwx
Still can't believe I sent an outdoor V10. Started climbing in 2019, and I've been training seriously since 2022. Psyched that it has payed off.

Why chase storms?
There are countless reasons, but one stands out: they remind us how small we are.
Imagine standing beneath a storm twice the height of Everest, visibly rotating. It's a truly humbling, awesome sight.
