I am delighted to confirm that I will be running for a 3rd consecutive term as Ceann Comhairle.

In my past 2 terms, I have full belief and confidence that I lived up to my initial promises of providing stability and impartiality when it was needed most.

Now, whilst I wasn't perfect, I do believe that I have what it takes to continue leading the chamber for a 3rd term to continue upholding the values and principles of which the Dail sits upon.

That has been the priorities I have executed since I was first elected.

IsabelMcNamara is one of the most active, dedicated and hardworking public servants I have ever come across in my time in Ireland.

I am proud that she serves in the Oireachtas today and I am definitely proud to call her a friend. (even if she is annoying asf sometimes)

It’s been an absolute honour of a lifetime to serve as Ceann Comhairle of the Dáil Éireann, a position which I have always wanted ever since I began in Ireland.

This position, which doesn’t come around very often, is nothing short of a distinguished and important role. 🧵

Being entrusted by the deputies in which you have been elected to oversee is a feeling which never fades nor goes and it is throughout this term which I have recognised this feeling.

Working with an amazing team of Oireachtas staff, it is safe to say I have learned a lot.
