@EUinKenya Russia is not an enemy of Africa. Europe and the entire west are. For decades you have stolen Africa's resources and impoverished us. Go away with your propaganda.
@EUinKenya These attempts to demonize Russia in Africa won't work. This generation has seen through the hypocrisy of the West. If the West had engaged Africa as a true partner, Africans would have had no need for Russia. In fact, the West failed Africa.
@Saxonized@RussiaArmyStan@grok A loser and brand washed folk speaking!USA a tyrannical state that killed abroad and on board ( mass murdering unaccountable starting from amerindian people to the more than 100 iranian innocents girls passing through Alliende,Iraki and afghanistan;name it).Unbreakable facts...
Here is the arithmetic that the phrase "Global South" obscures:
Africa: 1.6 billion people.
Asia: 4.9 billion people.
Latin America and the Caribbean: 670 million people.
Together: roughly 7.2 billion people out of 8.3 billion on earth.
The "Global South" is not a minority asking to be included.
It is the majority that has been structured out of power.
The entire architecture of the post-war international order, the Security Council veto, the IMF voting weights, the WTO rules, the dollar as a reserve currency, was built to ensure that 7.2 billion people would not have proportional influence over the decisions that shape their lives.
That architecture is not natural law.
It is a set of choices made by the winners of a particular moment in history, encoded as permanent, and maintained by the threat of consequences for those who question it.
Questioning it is not radical.
It is arithmetic.
Internally boycotting an athlete who disrespected your country’s revolutionary leader is dictatorship.
But going to kidnap a president of another (sovereign) country, where you have no jurisdictions over, is democracy.
The twisted logic of the USA and its worshippers.
They will say: "Colonialism ended. It’s in the past. Move on."
The wealth extracted during colonialism did not end when colonialism ended.
It moved. It compounded.
It became the capital base of the modern Western economies.
It became the university endowments and the banking systems and the infrastructure and the head start that turns into the ongoing gap between the countries that extracted and the countries that were extracted from.
The past is not past in the way that phrase requires.
The past is the present’s foundation.
And asking people to "move on" from a foundation that is still structurally determining their circumstances is not a call for reconciliation.
It’s a request to stop noticing.
Every time an African country elects a government that tries to keep more of its own resources, Western media discovers a "democracy deficit."
Every time an Asian nation builds technology that competes with Western products, Western governments discover a "security threat."
Every time a Latin American country charts an economic path outside the Washington Consensus, Western financial institutions discover a "stability risk."
The pattern is precise and it has been precise for two centuries.
The West is not afraid of authoritarian governments.
It has funded dozens of them.
The West is not afraid of economic mismanagement.
It has imposed structural adjustment programs that produced exactly that.
What produces the alarm, the specific, urgent, editorial-board-meeting alarm, is independence.
A poor country making its own choices with its own resources for its own people without asking permission.
That is the danger.
That has always been the danger.
Everything else is the vocabulary chosen to describe it in ways that don’t require honesty.

At the Africa-Russia Summit in Moscow, something truly surreal happened. A young Russian woman approached me, visibly excited, and asked, “Oh my goodness, are you Wode Maya?” When I said yes, she could hardly contain her excitement. She told me that MGIMO University, one of Russia’s most prestigious universities, had published a book titled 100 African Leaders and Influencers, and I was among those featured in it.
Honestly, I was overwhelmed. Imagine travelling all the way to Russia and discovering that a university had recognised your work enough to include you in a book celebrating 100 African leaders and influencers. I initially thought it was a joke until she showed me a digital copy.
But the story didn’t end there. The following day, one of the university professors personally brought an English-language copy of the book to my hotel.
Sometimes, you get so caught up in the journey that you forget how far you’ve come and how many lives your work might be touching beyond the places you have travelled.
I started this journey simply wanting to tell Africa’s stories differently and change the negative narrative about our continent. I never imagined that one day, my work would find its way into a book published in Russia.
I’m genuinely humbled, grateful and overwhelmed. This is bigger than me. ❤️🌍
Britain killed over hundred thousand people in Kenya because they were fighting for freedom. France killed over one million Algerians because they were fighting for freedom. Belgium killed over ten million Congolese. The west has no right to call anybody a dictator.
@DMAC102030@aunsuki132191@OgbeniDemola Do you think medecine and medical inventions have been conducted solely and exclusively by Europe in the previous centuries!?If you indeed think so,you are a fool...Sorry to hit you, hoping you start using your brain and do some in depth research...
@OgbeniDemola You could excuse ignorance of 400 years of colonialism, apparently, but it’s 2026.
They’ve abducted Venezuela’s president and killed 168 schoolgirls in Minab just this year.
And people still trust them to decide who’s a dictator and who’s a defender of human rights.
