Em 2019, o governo Leite patrocinou um libera geral no Código Ambiental do RS.

Foram mais de 480 alterações que tinham como principal objetivo flexibilizar as regras da proteção ambiental do estado.

A principal justificativa era criar um ambiente mais favorável para o desenvolvimento econômico do estado.

O que vemos hoje, porém, é justamente o contrário. Cada vez mais, a economia gaúcha sofre um impacto negativo dos eventos climáticos extremos.

As alterações foram aprovadas com pressa: foram apenas 75 dias entre a apresentação do projeto e sua aprovação.

Por conta de uma manobra do governo, os temas sequer foram debatidos na Comissão de Meio Ambiente da Assembleia Legislativa.

O governador que hoje lamenta, é o mesmo que propôs esse absurdo.

Yesterday's Nino 3.4 sea-surface temperature set the 60th consecutive daily record high for the Nino 3.4 region, and was 0.83°C higher than the previous record for July 28th, which came at the start of the 1997/98 El Nino.

A small Antarctic sea-ice extent update.

For the first time this year, sea-ice extent measured more than 3 standard deviations below the 1991-2020 average. That's about 1-in-777 purely by chance, or about 100% purely by human fuckery.
