Women make up the majority of the professions that have been on the front line during the pandemic- childcare, retail and caring professions. It's no coincidence that these professions receive disproportionately low pay. Here's to many more great discussions in the future!
A massive GRMA to Kathleen Funchion-Sinn Féin and Carál Ní Chuilín for joining us this evening in our first talk this year for International Women's Day.
Kathleen is the party's spokesperson in the Dáil for children and youth affairs.
She is currently working on the bill to allow adoptees access to their birth certificates which will go in front of the Dáil tomorrow.
Both Carál and Kathleen discussed some of the inequalities facing women in our society today
Massive maith sibh to @NolanDowneySF for organising a fantastic event on what Irish unity means for woman.
Great discussions with topics such as mother and baby homes, childcare policy and access to reproductive health care

I’m delighted to publish these expert panel reports on anti poverty & children’s poverty, gender, disability & LGBTQI equality. Now the work starts to co-design the strategies involving communities as we work to embed a rights based approach across government and society.
3 BOI Banks in South Belfast in danger of closing. We must oppose this to protect local jobs and community support ✊
📌Meeting is at Wednesday 10th 7:30
If your interested in joining this public meeting please email [email protected] for the zoom link
As we approach International Women’s Day, I give a shout out to the women & girls in my life. My Mummy, 3 Sisters & nieces Fiadh & Banbha
Strong Women;
May we know them
May we be them
May we raise them 💜🤍

We need solutions and change to tackle poverty at its root causes.
We can create a better, more equal society.
Communities Minister @DeirdreHargey writing in today's @Irish_News 👇
Sinn Féin will not sit idly by and watch people's voting rights be removed especially during these difficult times. Voting rights in the North were hard won and will be protected!
Plans by the British Govt and Electoral Office to wipe the electoral register are very concerning
This could lead to tens of thousands of voters losing their vote
I have requested an urgent meeting with the British SoS
People should be encouraged to vote, not disenfranchised
We're delivering the biggest change to housing in 50 years.
That means building more social and affordable homes.
And ensuring the next generation is not locked out of home ownership.
In government, we're working to make a real difference.
@DeirdreHargey
Brilliant to have some of my comrades from @Ogra_SF down to give a hand in the Market with the food packs organised by the @MDABelfast.
250 packs were made up and delivered to vunerable elderly residents in the area ✊❤🚩

Out again today with the tireless staff and volunteers of LORAG, delivering 65 parcels to support those in our community who need a helping hand at this time. @LoragHLC offers a range of services and supports, please get in touch if you need help.
I was humbled to meet with some of the family members & survivors of the Ormeau Road atrocity this eve. These people are parents, brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, grandchildren. They are all hurting right now. They have been waiting for 29 years for truth. No more delays
