@ToddHagopian Hole should be filled by dropping the estate exemption from $30mm to $1mm. 1/3 to Ss trust fun & 2/3 to debt reduction. Both problems fixed across 30-40 years. Queue the "but family farms" and similar histerics.
@ToddHagopian And my mom is 82 and would get caught up in this, but the 80T wealth transfer is the equitable place to go to fix these holes created in the past 82 years, imo.
@VT2025181513@AbhiKambli1984 And the Motion was as to recusal. It was denied. Rest of case need not revisit issue, so other attorneys ' thoughts not relevant (or required by FRCP or local rules). That's why she reversed her own Order after several hours.
@VT2025181513@AbhiKambli1984 Correct. Woodward signed it. Therefore, Woodward accountable. Ordering other attorneys to raise hands and sign is not appropriate or within the scope of FRCP 11.
@Lawyeredup1@Zuk_DC@kyledcheney If issuing clearly overbroad bench Orders to cast a wide net as to SANCTIONS is not at least somewhat indicative of partiality, then what would be? If the Judge's prior Order wasn't followed, why not set a hearing to discuss Contempt?
@Lawyeredup1@Zuk_DC@kyledcheney Judge already denied the recusal motion. File her written Order, and either refer to the local bar, or set a hearing to apply sanctions as to Woodward (11(a) signer) if she so desires. The attempt to loop in the line attorneys is the tell. The was bullying/coercion.
@Lawyeredup1@Zuk_DC@kyledcheney Her Order, regardless of her decision to withdraw after hours of discussion with Rule 11 sanctions expressly in the air, confirms Woodward was absolutely correct to have stepped into the crosshairs to file and argue recusal. That, by the way, is not supposed to happen.
@AbhiKambli1984 Judge Reyes didn't "request " anything. She Ordered a re-filing with additional signatures. Huge difference. Later she...checks notes...reversed her own Order in a fantastic show of judicial temperament.
@OneFlyMule@Zuk_DC@kyledcheney Judge Reyes conferring with her Clerks, and withdrawing her own bench Order is the cherry on top of this sequence from today.
@OneFlyMule@Zuk_DC@kyledcheney She entered a bench Order requiring refilling with additional signers....then she conferred with clerks (her description) and walked back the bench Order. Again, pretending not a good look.
@OneFlyMule@Zuk_DC@kyledcheney You can listen live. Transcripts not yet available. Pacer entries show sequence of filings and signatories. But trolling.
@LaCivilian@Zuk_DC@kyledcheney Totally agree. My problem is the sanctions/insubordination trap for subordinate attorneys who may be zealous or even just reasonably familiar with ethics and professionalism rules.
@OneFlyMule@Zuk_DC@kyledcheney "Something which hasn't been established. " Like other attorneys ratifying contents of recusal motion "LATER." Sheesh. If they simply let Woodward handle the appeal, if any, on recusal, other attys can argue merits w/out involvement
