You should cherish today's world.
It won't remain for long.
- humanoid robots aren't *everywhere*
- flying drones aren't *everywhere*
- can do work making you valuable to others without specialized/hard-won/secret knowledge (pre-40s)
- still legal to manually drive to go where you like
- distinct global cultures and languages still exist
- most people still share the same pre-/non-digital formative experiences
- there are no large scale wars or trade breakdowns between nuclear states or global powers
- assassinations are still mostly condemned
- boomers are still with us (extreme moderating force)
- millennial midlife crises over parent loss and childlessness hasn't yet begun (highly destabilizing)
- majority-minority demographic flips haven't yet occurred
@elonmusk Any possibility of the government buying the Palisades at full insurance value for the owners? Take the land and turn it into a federal park.
Photographs of the 10 people killed by suspect Ahmad al-Issa in #Boulder, Colo. I was told a few days ago that the race of victims in shootings matter even if there is no evidence of race playing a role in the attack.
