@pickingmyspot@itispsychomath I still don't know why I picked Ikea. The last time I went to Ikea was late 2019. I know that because I was looking for versatile food storage solutions due to some concerning internet rumours I was hearing coming out of China.
That was my second ever trip to Ikea.
@pickingmyspot@itispsychomath I spend so much time researching cognitive neuroscience that I've been hiding from friends, family, and my psychiatrist how much time I spend researching it. For well over a year.
Last week, a workmate asked me what I did on my week off. I panicked and invented a trip to ikea.
@AydinPaladin Ohh there's a great close-up of her. Look at her! Isn't she beautiful? What a fine specimen.

@pickingmyspot@itispsychomath Every thought you think makes changes to your brain. Spending too much time looking at the colour red (eg) changes your brain. Being miserable or apathetic *really* changes your brain. 'Not changing your brain' isn't on the table. Changing your brain is being alive.
@N8MSic@ThatEricAlper Late Uruk period is when we can prove the system was in use. Given it was based on counting by hand, who knows how far back it goes?
@N8MSic@ThatEricAlper Late Uruk period. Uruk Period: c 4000 - 3100 BCE. Well before Babylon. About as far before Babylon as the Dark Ages are for us.
Though, to be fair, everything you said is still true.
@repaschall2@yashar "Why would I lie to you?" is a question with such an absurdly obvious answer that it breaks my brain a bit that she'd ask it once, let alone repeatedly.
"Why would I question you?" could've been a good counter.
