I hope this is a lesson to every large brand that sees an opportunity in new media. You need to partner with existing creators, to create their largest and best projects, and use your connections to open doors for them. The day of creating your own round tables are gone.

There are very unique instances of these large, multi-creator projects being successful. Top of mind I think of @TrashTastePod; however, it's because every cast member contributes a large existing audience and the crew and costs are kept lean.

@LudwigAhgren's analysis is spot on when he says that a better model for @G4TV would have been to act as an intermediary between brands and creators. Can you imagine if we could get things like @XQC's Juiced on Cable TV? It would do numbers.

@MrBeast gets millions more views than @G4TV , gets all of his projects funded, and launched additional brands to fund his venture. The @tryguys did something very similar after leaving Buzzfeed, and every former @bonappetit member has successful channels of their own.

I feel like @G4TV ran into the same problems that @BuzzFeed did. When you have talent that can regularly command views on the magnitude that are required to make you profitable. What incentive do they have to do this for you and not themselves?

Rather, this is an indictment of just why large group projects for new media are so hard to sustain. When people like @xQc and @loltyler1 can amass enormous followings running super lean setups, why bother with the additional overhead of a full crew?
