خطوة جريئة من دولة قطر، حيث استخدمت حق النقض لمنع ألمانيا وشركة فولكسفاغن من المضي في التعاقد على تصنيع أسلحة وصواريخ قد تُستخدم في الإبادة الجماعية ضد الفلسطينيين. وتأتي هذه الخطوة في ظل امتلاك دولة قطر نحو 17% من أسهم شركة فولكسفاغن، ما منحها القدرة على التأثير في هذا القرار. موقف شجاع يُحسب لقطر في رفض المساهمة في أي أعمال قد تؤدي إلى مزيد من معاناة الشعب الفلسطيني.

I am deeply alarmed by the detention of Sama Safi in an Israeli prison. Sama, a 20-year-old Palestinian American student, was taken from her home in the middle of the night and continues to be held without charges. This is part of a disturbing pattern of the Israeli government denying Palestinians their basic due process rights, often at risk to their health and safety. The United States has a responsibility to protect its citizens abroad, and we must hold our allies to basic standards of equal justice under the law. I am urging Secretary Rubio and the Trump Administration to use every diplomatic tool available to bring Sama home safely.
